B. Christopher Agee, The Western Center For Journalism — Wednesday marked the 41st anniversary of the one Supreme Court ruling that likely changed America more than any other. In Barack Obama’s celebration of the Roe V. Wade decision legalizing abortion, he crammed as many platitudes and rhetorical flourishes as possible in the effort to legitimize the murder of unborn children.He described the anniversary as a time to “recommit ourselves to the decision’s guiding principle,” which he claimed is “that every woman should be able to make her own choices about her body and her health.”
Of course, the 1973 ruling was in reality a means of excusing a mother’s decision to kill her offspring in the womb. Even Norma Leah McCorvey – a.k.a. “Jane Roe” of Roe V. Wade – ultimately recognized that fact, declaring as long ago as 1995 that, after her case, women “have literally been handed the right to slaughter their own children.”
Such arguments only get in the way of the leftist agenda, though, so Obama’s statement Wednesday paid special attention to issues such as “protecting a woman’s access to safe, affordable health care….”
Only in the mind of a radical leftist could the conscious decision to murder another human for the sake of convenience be labeled a health care issue.
With no apparent sense of irony, Obama concluded his statement by affirming that “this is a country where everyone deserves the same freedom and opportunities to fulfill their dreams.”
The millions of lives snuffed out by monsters in the abortion industry, however, apparently do not qualify for such opportunities.
Despite the fact that the abortion industry has countless cheerleaders – including Obama – who are willing to dishonestly portray abortion as a women’s health issue, many claim the pro-life movement somehow has more political clout than pro-abortion groups.
While it is true that the majority of Americans believe the abortion laws are far too loose in America, today’s policymakers and influencers disagree. Pro-life rallies and demonstrations rely primarily on volunteers; meanwhile, our government forces taxpayers to fund the abortion providers of Planned Parenthood.
That organization’s president, Cecile Richards, gladly accepts those funds while claiming the widespread death of black babies in America somehow furthers the civil rights mission of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Obama’s recent statement is merely the most recent evidence that his alliance lies firmly with those who seek to perpetuate abortion on demand despite the wishes of his subjects.
