Is New ‘Exodus’ Movie Actually Biblical?
Americans want to know if star-studded film will be another ‘Noah’
By Drew Zahn — From the look of the heart-pounding trailer, the upcoming Dec. 12 film, “Exodus: Gods and Kings,” has everything movie audiences – regardless of their faith – could want.A story based on one of the greatest tales ever told. Top-notch Hollywood production values. Sweeping, epic cinematography. Awe-inspiring pyramids and golden-clad armies, chariots and thundering hooves, grueling sword fights and terrifying plagues that leap from the screen with multimillion-dollar special effects.
To cap it off, it stars multiple Oscar-award winning actors and actresses, including the charismatic Christian Bale and legendary Ben Kingsley, and is directed by Ridley Scott, the three-time Oscar-nominated talent who also directed the 2001 Best Picture winner, “Gladiator.”
But as some sobering new statistics reveal, what movie audiences really want to know before they spend their money on a ticket … is whether the makers of “Exodus: Gods and Kings” are trying to pull another “Noah.”
The earlier film about the Flood, also boasting big-name talent and a blockbuster budget, took wild liberties with its biblical source material. By its director’s own admission, “Noah” was twisted into a tale far more about environmentalism than the judgment and mercy of God.
Consequently, Christian audiences – who make up the majority of film-goers in America – largely panned the movie, and “Noah” required international ticket sales to avoid losing tens of millions of dollars.

The Pope said the scientific account of the beginning of the universe and the development of life through evolution are compatible with the Catholic Church’s vision of creation. He told a meeting of the Vatican’s Pontifical Academy for Sciences: ‘The Big Bang, which today we hold to be the origin of the world, does not contradict the intervention of the divine creator but, rather, requires it.’But he said Christians should reject the idea that world came into being by chance. Likewise, evolution was all part of God’s plan, he explained. The development of each creature’s characteristics over millennia ‘does not contrast with the notion of creation because evolution presupposes the creation of beings that evolve,’ he said.
“Reading Genesis we imagine that God is ‘a wizard with a magic wand’ capable of doing all things, he said. ‘But it is not so. He created life and let each creature develop according to the natural laws which he had given each one.’Francis praised his predecessor, Benedict, who initiated attempts to shed the Catholic Church’s image of being anti-science, a label that stuck when it condemned the astronomer Galileo to death for teaching that the earth revolves around the sun.
The Catholic Church no longer teaches creationism – the belief that God created the world in six days – and says that the account in the book of Genesis is an allegory for the way God created the world....

According to the New York Times –a pro Democrat and pro-IRS outlet, this rule “allows law enforcement agents to take property they suspect of being tied to crime even if no criminal charges are filed. An Iowa woman who did not cheat on her taxes or launder money has had her entire life savings confiscated by the Internal Revenue Service simply because she deposited less than $10,000 at a time into the bank. “How can this happen?” restaurant owner Carole Hinders told the New York Times. “Who takes your money before they prove that you’ve done anything wrong with it?”Hinders has been serving up Mexican dishes at her eatery in Arnolds Park, Iowa, for close to 40 years, all the while depositing her earnings in a small nearby bank. But last year, two tax agents showed up to inform her they had seized her checking account, almost $33,000, as the IRS interpreted her small deposits as an attempt to avoid triggering a required government report....
