Trump Launches U.S. Government Into Shutdown After Republicans And Democrats Fail To Come To An Agreement To Keep Federal Government Functioning
By Geoffrey Grider: Plunged into a government shutdown, the U.S. is confronting a fresh cycle of uncertainty after President Donald Trump and Congress failed to strike an agreement to keep government programs and services running by Wednesday’s deadline.
The signs are all around you, constant and repetitive flashbacks to the ramp up to WWII on display in 2025 in the form of economic turmoil, widespread government uncertainty, and a ever-strengthening prelude to war. You’d have to work pretty hard to not see it, and yet, I hear from people every day who think everything is fine, and Donald Trump is playing 4D chess. Maybe he is, but you won’t like the outcome of this game and that’s the memo.
Maybe you don’t see it, can’t see it or won’t see it, but it’s staring at you right in the face. Let me explain what I mean. Out of the White House comes and endless messaging stream telling us that we are in a ‘Golden Age’ of prosperity, right? Yet look around you, where is it? Gas prices remain high, food remains expensive, insurance costs for home, health and auto across the board are skyrocketing, jobs are not increasing.
I come in contact with a lot of people around the country on a daily basis, and so far, not one person has told me they are experiencing a golden age of prosperity. Why is that? Because we are being lied to, about everything, all day and every day. What is coming is war, and plenty of it. Yesterday, Donald Trump said that war was coming to America’s cities, and to get ready for boots on the ground. Trump said our cities will now be used for a ‘training ground’ for American troops. If Obama or Biden would have said that, you’d be joining a militia to revolt against the government, yet when Trump does it, you applaud him. But there is one positive in all this, you’ve forgotten all about the Epstein Files.

Kirk Cameron Has Done Wonderful Things For The Gospel—But He Is Greatly Mistaken About Israel
By Olivier Melnick: Kirk Cameron has done much good for the Gospel over the years. From his early days as a Hollywood actor to his outspoken Christian witness today, I have no doubt about his sincerity or his love for Jesus. But sincerity doesn’t excuse serious error, especially when it comes to Israel.
Cameron recently responded to an interview between Tucker Carlson and Senator Ted Cruz, venturing into theology regarding Israel, Zionism, and the Church. Unfortunately, Cameron’s words weren’t just slightly off, but instead they struck at the heart of God’s promises to Israel. With a confident tone and an open Bible in hand, he essentially argued that Israel has been replaced by the Church.
This is no small matter. Entire movements in Church history have gone astray by embracing what’s known as replacement theology (or “supersessionism”), the idea that God abandoned Israel and replaced her with the Church. But if God’s covenant promises to Israel can be discarded, then what does that say about any of His promises, including to believers?
Cameron begins by referencing Genesis 12:2–3, the cornerstone of God’s covenant with Abraham. He paraphrases the verse as if it merely applied to Abraham personally, not to his descendants or the nation of Israel. This is the first exegetical error I see in Cameron’s presentation.
Look at the full text out of Genesis: “And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.” (Genesis 12:2–3)
These words of God to Abraham are not vague, pointing beyond Abraham as an individual. God promises to make Abraham into a nation. That nation is identified later as Israel, the descendants of Abraham through Isaac and Jacob. To shrink this promise down to a generic “those who believe” is to twist the text and rob it of its plain meaning.
Cameron then leaps to Romans 9:6–8 to suggest that Paul “demystifies” who the children of Abraham are. He highlights Paul’s phrase: “not all who are descended from Israel belong to Israel.” Ripping the words from the Scripture and without context, he concludes that true Israel is simply those who believe in Christ—Jew and Gentile alike.

Lessons From Oslo - Why Trumps Peace Plan Will Repeat History
By Josh Katzen/JNS.org: U.S. President Donald Trump's new 20-point Mideast peace plan, based in large part on his "Peace to Prosperity" plan issued during his first administration, lays out conditions that on the surface seem like common sense. Palestinians must stop incitement. They must stop raising their children to hate Jews. They must form a vetted police force to maintain order, accept international supervision, rebuild their society and create a moderate self-governing authority.
These sound like reasonable benchmarks. But the problem is simple: Every single one of these measures has already been tried. They were called the Oslo Accords. And they failed miserably.
Oslo was supposed to be the framework for peace between Palestinians and Jews, built on reciprocity and mutual trust. Israel handed over land and authority in exchange for Palestinian commitments to renounce violence, end incitement and create the foundations of responsible self-government.
Through it all, Israel kept its side of the deal. It withdrew from territory, dismantled checkpoints, and allowed weapons for Palestinian Authority security forces and police.
And the Palestinians violated every one of their obligations.
They did not stop incitement. Instead, the P.A. used its schools, television, mosques and official speeches to double down on a culture of hatred. Children learned songs about killing Jews. Maps erased Israel. Martyrdom was glorified.

Greta Thunberg’s Sumud Flotilla Scheduled to Arrive in Israel on Yom Kippur
By Adam Eliyahu Berkowitz: The much-publicized Sumud flotilla organized by climate activist Greta Thunberg is scheduled to arrive in Gaza on Tuesday evening or Wednesday, coinciding with Yom Kippur, the Jewish Day of Atonement. This development comes after Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement claiming that Hamas documents discovered in the Gaza Strip show a direct link between the flotilla leaders and the Hamas terrorist organization.
Just as the IDF was forced to protect the Jewish state from an enemy attack on Yom Kippur in 1973, a special task force has been established for its interception over the holiday with the participation of the IDF, Shin Bet, the police, the elite Israel Navy Shayetet 13 Unit commandos, and the Foreign Ministry. The force is tasked with intercepting the flotilla before it arrives in Gaza and bring it to Israeli shores, where they are expected to be detained and deported from the country as soon as possible. Anyone who refuses will be held in custody.
It should also be noted that the October 7th attack by Hamas and Gaza civilians on Israel was intentionally set to take place on Shabbat Simchat Torah. Similarly, the United Nations Security Council scheduled a critical meeting on the Gaza war during Rosh Hashanah, one of Judaism’s holiest holidays. The timing appeared designed to prevent Israeli officials and observant Jews from participating in discussions about Israel’s ongoing conflict with Hamas.
The leaders of the flotilla have been contacted by the IDF and warned of the consequences of their actions. The stated goal of the flotilla is to bring humanitarian aid to Gaza in defiance of the wartime blockade.
Israel has offered to allow the flotilla to dock in Ashdod where any aid will be transferred to Gaza. Italy has also urged flotilla members to accept a compromise proposal to drop aid in a Cyprus port and avoid a confrontation with Israeli forces. But representatives refused the offer.

Mind you, while threatening to go after “hate crime,” Mamdani voted for laws statewide that reclassified violent crimes like strangulation, aggravated vehicular homicide, several physical and sexual assault offenses as “non-violent” therefore not bail eligible crimes. He opposed every attempt to correct this.
