Barbara Loe Fisher is the co-founder and president of the National Vaccine Information Center, a non profit organization she founded with parents of DPT vaccine injured children in 1982. She has led a grassroots movement and public information campaign to institute vaccine safety reforms and informed consent protections in the public health system. She is the author of “The Consumer’s Guide to Childhood Vaccines” and “Vaccines, Autism & Chronic Inflammation: The New Epidemic” and co-author of “DPT: A Shot in the Dark”.Vaccines are pharmaceutical products just like prescription drugs and carry risks so you need to understand what you are purchasing so the decision involves product safety and your human and civil right to exercise voluntary informed consent to medical risk taking.
When children are born they are put on a rigorous vaccine schedule. That schedule is of concern to Barbara because today the Centers for Disease Control recommends that children receive 69 doses of 17 vaccines beginning on the day of birth through age 18. 49 of those doses are given between the day of birth and age 6. That’s three times as many vaccinations as children were given 30 years ago.
Barbara noted that she’s been watching the relationship between chronic disease and disability among children. Today, one in 6 children in America has learning disabilities. One in 9 has asthma. One in 50 are now autistic. One in 450 develop diabetes. One in 10 have Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.
She assured listeners that she’s not saying chronic disease in children is all due to vaccines. She’s concerned because an intervention consisting of increased vaccines is a manipulation of the immune systems of children. Since you have to have inflammation in order to initiate an antibody immune response, is it possible that a growing number of children are not able to physically deal with that inflammation, are becoming chronically inflamed and therefore becoming victims of chronic disease?
