Greg Campbell, TPNN Political Analyst — At a time when Democrats and RINO Republicans crusade for increased government spending, Senator Tom Coburn’s annual Wastebook illustrates the kind of fiscal lunacy to which the government is committed. The 2013 Wastebook released on Tuesday shows that the federal government is not only targeting Tea Partiers for harassment, but has been studying us.According to the report that outlines 100 examples of wasteful government spending that equals nearly $30 billion, the federal government spent almost $400,000 of taxpayer money to study “the cognitive-style correlates of political conservatism”
The study aimed to research the mindset of conservatives. According to Yale law professor Dan Kahan, those “identifying with the Tea Party correlates positively…with scores on the science comprehension measure.
Kahan also admitted that he was surprised by the finding, stating,
“As I pushed the button to run the analysis on my computer, I fully expected I’d be shown a modest negative correlation between identifying with the Tea Party and science comprehension.”
The government, seemingly, did not commission costly studies on the cognitive abilities of other political groups; Occupy Wall Street was not studied nor were environmental groups. Perhaps such a study could be shrugged off as mild governmental curiosity if the government hadn’t spent the last three years routinely targeting Tea Party groups for harassment and wasn’t currently engaged in a crusade to make the IRS’ crackdown on the Tea Party legal.
On Tuesday, former Tea Party Congressman Allen West appeared on Fox News to discuss the report.
“I can tell you this: I have the cognitive ability to understand that Obamacare is going towards a death spiral- that it does not work and it’s not just a website. I have the cognitive ability to understand and be able to discern when the President of the United States is telling the truth or not telling the truth. I have the cognitive ability to definitely not say anything such as, ‘We’ve got to pass the bill in order to find out what’s in it.’ So I think that that professor and that funding should have been pointed towards those people who are definitely failing the American taxpayers.”
To Democrats, every nickel of government spending is sacred. Even a modest cut to government spending growth will often yield dramatic overreactions and punitive slashing of budgets that can be blamed on the “obstructionist” GOP.
Still our government is content with spending nearly $400K on studying Tea Party members to learn what makes us believe in Constitutionally-limited government, free markets and government accountability. » Full Article

This organization was created to help give the power of government back to the people. We believe, like many of you, that our government has grown out-of-control in a death spiral of unsustainable and barely imaginable trillion-dollar deficits and a national debt rivaling Gross Domestic Product. This government has ignored the Constitution that defines us; invaded the liberty from which our nation was born; and daily drains away the individuality and entrepreneurial spirit of Americans in order to advance a radical, socialist policy built on the back of American taxpayers. We, like many of you, decided to stand up and do something about it. » Learn More
