Well, I got up in the morning
checked the mail and read a letter from my work
And the words that I was readin' made me mad
But I resisted goin' bersek
Then I understood the words that they'd written
And thought no way this can't be right
But I read again and shook my head
And grumbled cause I feel I've been betrayed
I'd stood my ground so many times before
But I felt my spirit sicken
And I felt so bad for all the other folks
who could feel the time bomb ticking
So I fired up the internet
And looked around to make a plan for fixin'
All the problems that had come
about and left our lives in so much disarray
I'm so tired of all this crosstalk
Rules and laws that were not shown
'Cause there's something in this scandal
That makes everyone feel alone
And we're sick of all his lyin'
Now it's clear we've run aground
My insurance has been cancelled
And his website is still down
In my church I know a daddy
With a little boy and girl that he is raising
I bet that he is grieving too
Over higher fees for which his family's bracing
Then I read about Americans
who are going through the same painful stinging
From coast to coast, and shore to shore
These disappearing dreams of yesterday
I'm so tired of all this crosstalk
