VETERANS GROUPS DEMAND RESIGNATIONS IN RESPONSE TO VA SCANDAL; GUESS HOW OBAMA RESPONDED

The Obama Administration Has Said It Has
No Intention To Call For Shinseki’s Resignation

Jennifer Burke, TPNN Online Editor — Many around the country, Republicans and Democrats included, are outraged over revelations that at least 40 veterans died due to delayed care from the VA Hospital in Phoenix. The hospital, which is charged to care for our veterans after their service to the country, is also accused of keeping duplicate logs, one real and one fake, to hide their failure to provide care.

So far, at least two doctors have come forward confirming the allegations that officials at the Phoenix VA Hospital were intentionally denying care to veterans, then keeping fake logs to cover it up. Whistleblowers, who were concerned the fake log documents would be destroyed, hid them as evidence.

Two members of Congress from Arizona, Republican Rep. Matt Salmon and Democrat Rep. Kyrsten Sinema have co-sponsored an amendment to “H.R. 4486, the Military Construction and Veterans Affairs and Related Agencies Appropriations Act of 2015 to address the revelations of multiple problems plaguing veterans’ hospitals in Arizona and across America.”

In a press release, Salmon said,

“The egregious neglect of our Arizona veterans by the Phoenix VA Health Care System breaks the promise our country made to those who have so faithfully served and sacrificed for our nation. These reports of mismanagement and misconduct by administrators at the Phoenix Veterans hospital are deeply disturbing and require a thorough investigation and immediate action.”

Sinema added that, so far it appears this event is not isolated to the Phoenix VA. She said,

“The recent allegations of secret lists and long wait times at the Phoenix VA, which may have caused some 40 veteran deaths, require answers and action. This is immoral, unconscionable, irresponsible and un-American. We need answers in Phoenix but this is not an isolated incident. Stories of health complications and deaths because of wait times have surfaced in other places around the country including South Carolina and Texas.”

The American Legion, one of the largest veterans organizations with 2.4 million members in 14,000 posts worldwide, is calling for the resignation of Department of Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki, Under Secretary of Health Robert Petzel and Under Secretary of Benefits Allison Hickey. Concerned Veterans for America joins the American Legion in the call for these resignations.

Despite the grave concerns of many regarding the actions, or lack thereof, of officials at Veterans Affairs which led to the death of those who risked their lives to serve our country, the Obama administration has said it has no intention to call for Shinseki’s resignation.

Former Secretary of Veterans Affairs Anthony Principi appeared on FOX News this morning, with Bill Hemmer, to discuss this latest scandal regarding the Obama Veterans Affairs.
