Bergdahl Was Not A Prisoner Of War
Neither Is The Taliban A Nation-State Army...They Are Terrorists
On Today’s Show (June 4, 2014): Guest Usama Dakdok (pictured left) is the founder and director of The Straight Way of Grace Ministry. Usama is Egyptian born and was raised in a Christian home. He learned about Islam in school because it was a required subject. He also studied Islamic law in college. Usama speaks fluent Arabic. He started The Straight Way of Grace Ministry to reach out to the Muslim world with the Gospel and also to instruct Christians on the true teachings and goals of Islam. He is the speaker on the daily radio broadcast, ‘Revealing the Truth About Islam.’On Saturday, President Obama agreed to release five of the best, high ranking Al Qaeda terrorists in return for The Bergdahl/Taliban Swap Bowe Bergdahl. Bergdahl had been held by the Taliban in Afghanistan since 2009.
Some are calling this an ‘end run’ around Congress and that President Obama blatantly disregarded the law regarding congressional notification concerning this matter.
Usama noted that Bergdahl was not a prisoner of war. He believes Bergdahl was not kidnapped but rather he searched for the Taliban and when he found them he became part of them. In essense, he deserted his fellow American troops. Usama believes he should be in prison and that justice would be served, especially in regard to those who died to save him.
So why did Susan Rice state that Bergdahl served with honor and distinction? What do we make of the Arabic words of Bergdahl's father during his speech at the White House Rose Garden? Does President Obama's smile upon hearing those Arabic words tell us anything? Why does Usama believe President Obama executed this trade?
