» VIDEO: Rick Perry Calls Out Obama In Committee Hearing: ‘Secure This Border, Mr. President’
Lead Story by TPNN Staff, Tea Party News Network —
As a surge of unaccompanied children stream across the border, Democrats and many Republicans have been quick to call it a “humanitarian crisis.” While pro-amnesty lawmakers crusade to offer some sort of amnesty for the tens-of-thousands of children who were sent here in violation of our laws, many conservatives have been quick to note that while the plight of these children is unfortunate, America is under no obligation to welcome illegal immigration.
Over 52,000 unaccompanied children have been apprehended after crossing the border into the U.S. illegally, with nearly two-thirds of them coming through the Rio Grande Valley in Texas.
On Thursday, Texas Governor and likely 2016 presidential candidate Rick Perry testified before a congressional field hearing in South Texas.
Gov. Perry has joined many other conservatives in his criticism of the Obama Administration’s handling of immigration issues, accusing them of welcoming illegal immigration which send a clear message that those coming here illegally will be allowed to stay, which encourages the illegal immigration further.
“The real issue, from my perspective, is this message that has come out of this administration for too many years that, ‘Come on up and cross the border and you can become a United States citizen,’ Perry recently claimed in an interview.
On Thursday, Perry addressed the field committee and stated,
“The border between the U.S. and Mexico is less secure than at any time in the recent past… My message to President Obama is: Secure this border, Mr. President. Finally address this issue and secure this border.”
“We have a Constitution that clearly enumerates the powers that are supposed to be dealt with by the federal government. Defending and securing this country’s borders is one of those and we’re failing.”
Perry’s comments come after the President announced that he would tackle immigration reform on his own, though he possesses no constitutional authority to do so. » Full Article & Video...

Truth Revolt — Happy Independence Day!
Cost of Government Day falls on July 6. That means it will take until the end of this weekend to pay off all government spending and regulations. This marks the sixth year in a row that COGD fell in July. Before President Obama took office, it had never fallen past late June, according to ATR.
Currently, workers are "trading in" 121 days on the clock to simply pay off government spending. It takes another 65 days to pay for regulatory costs, totaling 186 days. As ATR points out, it is worse in states like New Jersey and Connecticut, where the COGD falls at the end of July.
So this 4th of July weekend, remember, the money that you have made so far this year belongs to the government. Enjoy that hotdog!
