According to CNN, two Americans infected with the deadly and highly contagious Ebola virus are being flown from Liberia to the U.S. for treatment at Emory University.
Rush Limbaugh questions the wisdom of that decision, for reasons that have as much to do with politics as with public health.
“I can’t think of a reason why anyone would want to bring anyone suffering from [Ebola] into this country,” Limbaugh said to his listeners Friday afternoon.
“Now, I understand compassion,” he went on. “And they’re Americans, and so forth. [But] is that why you think the president decided to do it?”
Limbaugh doesn’t believe the Obama administration is motivated by “compassion” in this case.
One of Limbaugh’s staffers offered a suggestion through the host’s earpiece.
“The answer that I just received from the ‘Official Program Observer,’” Limbaugh related, “is that ‘every good crisis deserves a Democrat president.’ So what you’re saying is: If there is Ebola in the world, it might as well be here so Obama can strut his stuff’?”
However, Limbaugh pointed out, THERE IS NO CURE FOR EBOLA, so the opportunity for the president to truly help these individuals is minimal.
The real reason the two infected Americans are being flown to the U.S., Limbaugh suggested, was simple.
“Every event that attracts mass attention is going to be converted into advancing the Democrat Party agenda,” he explained. “And every time we give them the benefit of the doubt, we’re proven wrong.”
This new “crisis,” Limbaugh continued, will give Obama the opportunity to look heroic and compassionate.
Meanwhile, he added, “there are going to be people who question why, and those people are going to be tagged as heartless, mean-spirited and uncaring.”

The dead bodies of illegal immigrants are turning up in south Texas as Central Americans pour across the U.S.-Mexico border, and a veterinarian who ranches cattle 70 miles from ground zero has the photos to prove it.
Dr. Mike 'Doc' Vickers of Brooks County, Texas showed some of the grisly images to MailOnline, all of them far too grotesque to publish unedited.
One picture shows a corpse propped up against a tree near his ranch in Brooks County, his eyes missing and dried blood cascading down his shirtless body.
'This guy, obviously, had to lay down up against that tree, and that's where he died,' Vickers says in interview footage provided exclusively to MailOnline by documentary filmmaker Chris Burgard.
Falcons native to the Rio Grande river valley 'plucked his eyes out before he was dead,' the animal doctor concludes. 'He bled out through his eyes, which tells me that he was probably in a coma but they were eatin' on him before his heart stopped beating.'
