‘It Is A Fact That Your Party Rejected You’
By Greg Campbell — President Obama was forced to come before the American people on Wednesday and face the music. The nation has rejected the Democrat leadership that has dominated the Senate for eight long years and in a midterm that most-always serves as a referendum on the president’s job approval and his party’s direction, the American people made it clear that they have had enough of the “hope and change” agenda that has continually fallen short of high hopes.On Wednesday, President Obama offered a mixed message to the American people on how he intends to deal with a Republican-dominated Congress. While he did offer the seemingly obligatory remarks geared towards cooperation, the President who’s executive theory can best be defined as rooted in assumed regal authority also promised further executive actions that remain outside the confines of his Constitutional authority.
“Today I had a chance to speak with John Boehner and congratulated Mitch McConnell on becoming the next Senate majority leader,” Obama began. “And I told them both that I look forward to finishing up this Congress’s business and then working together for the next two years to advance America’s business.”
Obama also promised,
“I’m eager to work with the new Congress to make the next two years as productive as possible. I’m committed to making sure that I measure ideas not by whether they are from Democrats or Republicans, but whether they work for the American people.”
However, during the same speech where he promised collaborative efforts, Obama promised to act unilaterally.
“Before the end of the year, we’re going to take whatever lawful actions that I can take,” he warned. On the issue of immigration, Obama claimed that he would do “what we can do lawfully through executive actions,” but in a manner sounding more like extortion than legitimate political leadership, Obama offered, “You send me a bill that I can sign, and those executive actions go away.”
The press conference continued on as reporters questioned Obama’s intention to rule unilaterally. However, a tense moment arose when CNN’s Jim Acosta pushed the President on the Democrats’ apparent rejection of the president and accused the President of being a “lame duck.”
“I know you don’t want to read the tea leaves, but it is a fact that your party rejected you in these mid-terms. By and large, they did not want you out on the campaign trail in these key battleground states. How do you account for that?… What do you make of the notion that you’re now a lame duck?”President Obama offered a canned response that promised he would do everything he could to “help make this world a better place over these last two years.”
Obama’s grip on the Senate has slipped and though he spoke of cooperation, also promised unilateral action on issues he feels are important. For years, the Democrats have maintained that the GOP is the party of obstruction, but with hundreds of bills ready to be brought to the floor of the Senate, it has seemed that Democrat Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has served as the true obstructionist and as Republicans in the House and Senate pass bills, it will be up to the President to sign them or otherwise explain why he will obstruct the legislative process....

If there is one main takeaway from Tuesday’s mid-term elections, it’s the fact that the phoney, baloney “war on women” is over. Planned Parenthood, NARAL, and their pro-abortion allies have desperately tried to tag pro-life groups and candidates with the anti-woman tag by claiming the oppose women by virtue of the fact that they oppose abortion and being forced to pay for abortion-causing drugs.
Last night’s overwhelming victory for pro-life candidates showed the abortion-centered ‘war on women’ strategy has completely failed. Most of the candidates in top-tier races where the war on women tactic was employed won their races.
Abortion darlings Wendy Davis and Sandra Fluke lost their bids for re-election and Davis even lost with women voters. Not only did Davis lose, but she lost by the biggest margin since the 1998 Texas gubernatorial election.
As Allison Howard of Concerned Women for America asked: “If Wendy Davis and Sandra Fluke are the leaders of a so-called war, and they both lose…is the war over?”...

There were two messages from Republicans on the morning after their sweeping victory in the 2014 midterm elections. One was that voters had elected Republicans to stop President Barack Obama's agenda. The other was that voters had elected Republicans to depose Harry Reid and break the gridlock in Congress. Both messages are correct, and reconciling them will be the toughest task facing new Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.The first, and decisive, test will be Obama's proposed executive amnesty, through which--it is suggested--he may try to defer indefinitely the deportations of millions of people who broke the law to enter and/or stay in the United States.
