By AUTHOR — When a group of imams tried to bring a form of “Shariah light” to Texas, they met an unlikely foe – Irving Mayor Beth Van Duyne.Now, Van Duyne has been thrust into the national media spotlight, and her city is being called “ground zero” in the battle to prevent Islamic law from gaining a foothold, no matter how small, in the U.S. legal system.
Van Duyne’s name and picture has popped up on Facebook pages and Twitter feeds across America in recent days, casting her with equal enthusiasm as villain or hero, depending on one’s political outlook.
She’s either the mayor who stood up to the Muslim Brotherhood or the “Islamophobic bigot” looking to cash in politically on fears about Islamic terrorism.
The media frenzy was touched off by reports that an Islamic tribunal was being set up in the Dallas, Texas, area. A group of imams from surrounding mosques would sit on what they call a “mediation panel,” as defacto judges, and mediate disputes between Muslims who voluntarily submit to its edicts. They denied this was a Shariah court, saying the panel would mete out nonbinding decisions in business disputes, divorces and other family matters “in full accordance with the law.”
Van Duyne wrote a blistering Facebook post last month in which she vowed to “fight with every fiber of my being against this action.”
She worked with state legislators to craft a bill that would declare it illegal for any U.S. court to adopt any foreign legal system for the basis of its rulings. Islam was not mentioned in the bill, nor was any religion.
Last Thursday the Irving City Council voted 5-4 to endorse the bill before a packed room full of mostly angry Muslims.
When called on by the Council of American-Islamic Relations to apologize for her February Facebook post, Van Duyne flatly refused. She also appeared in the national spotlight in an interview with conservative media icon Glenn Beck.
She’s been practically canonized by some websites while becoming the target of journalistic hit pieces from others.
Her local newspaper, the Dallas Morning News, cast her as a petulant demagogue who uses “gifted speaking skills” to “get a crowd on her side.”
“The dispute has made Van Duyne a hero among a fringe movement that believes Muslims – a tiny fraction of the U.S. population – are plotting to take over American culture and courts,” the Dallas Morning News reported. The newspaper then quoted local imam Zia Sheikh as saying the mayor’s stance “fuels anti-Islamic hysteria” and is “very Islamophobic.”
But to conservatives who have watched one city, state and federal leader after another kowtow to the threats and demands of CAIR, she is a breath of fresh air.

Operation “Choke Point” Seeks To Put Gun And Ammo Dealers Out Of Business
By Drew Curry, TPNN — The federal government may be quietly regulating gun and ammunition dealers out of business with a recently uncovered program called “Operation Choke Point.”The program is targeting businesses the Obama administration finds morally objectionable.
The secret program created by the Obama administration is designed to prevent fraud by eliminating access to banks for certain types of businesses, but it now appears that this program has expanded to target certain types of legal businesses that the Obama administration is opposed to, one of the main kinds are gun and ammo dealers.
But the administration didn’t count on one gun store owner, Mike Schuetz, a private investigator as well as a gun store owner from digging into the program and finding out the federal government’s dirty little secret about operation “Choke Point.”
Schuetz shared his findings on Fox and Friends with Kimberly Guilfoyle including a recorded audio conversation with his bank who told him that they could no longer serve him and closed his account.
The financial services subcommittee on oversight and investigation held a hearing Tuesday to hear arguments for and against the program. What comes out of it will soon be revealed....

School official supports inclusive club for terrorists
By Brian Lilley, Ben Sharpiro’s Truth Revolt— roject Veritas strikes again, this time exposing Ivy League school Cornell as welcoming of an ISIS club on campus.The latest undercover video from James O’Keefe’s organization shows Joseph Scaffido, Assistant Dean for Students at Cornell, answering a series of questions on setting up a club supporting terrorist groups and even terrorist training. He never raises problems with such a club on campus.
“I think programs like that really do have a place here at Cornell,” Scaffido said in response to a question on sending care packages to ISIS “freedom fighters.”
The Project Veritas undercover reporter posed as a Mororccan student looking to study at Cornell next semester. As he asks a series of questions it is clear the “student” wants to set up a club that would support terrorists but the school official never bats an eye.
“The freedom fighters and their families in particular. I think it would be important to educate, but to maybe send them care packages be it food, water, electronics,” the reporter said....

The Jade Helm realistic military training program will take place in seven states across the country, including Mississippi and Louisiana. Forces will be given realistic scenarios with limited resources and are encouraged to work with civilians.
About 90 percent of the forces in Tom Green County will be Army Green Berets, combat veterans and some Navy Seals, Mead said. All players involved in the program, even those playing the role of enemy forces, will wear arm bands to identify them as a part of the training exercise.
Members of the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office, Shannon Medical Center and officials at other counties involved already have been briefed, Mead said.
“We like to have local citizens involved,” Mead said.

The watchdog organization released 76 pages of Homeland Security documents on Friday, retrieved through FOIA request, showing that many of the criminals were found guilty of violent crimes, including homicide, sexual assault, kidnapping, and aggravated assault.According to a report published by the Center for Immigration Services in May 2014, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) freed 36,007 convicted criminal aliens who had nearly 88,000 convictions, including 193 homicide convictions, 426 sexual assault convictions, and 303 kidnapping convictions in the year 2013 alone.

Muslims Ambush Eighty Two Christians As They Sleep On Their Beds, And Slaughter All Of Them In Major Massacre That The Media Is Ignoring
By Theodore Shoebat, Shoebat Foundation — Muslims in Nigeria, who are all part of the Fulani tribe, ambushed eighty two people in a Christian village as they slept in their beds and slaughtered all of them in a new massacre of Christians that the media is not paying any attention to. Here is the story:Fulani Muslim herdsmen killed at least 82 people and injured several more in an attack on 15 March against a mainly Christian village in Agatu, in Nigeria’s central Benue state. Storming the village at around 4 a.m., herdsmen killed anyone in their path and murdered scores of villagers as they slept in their beds.
“The search for victims and survivors is still ongoing,” said a local resident, “but there is no doubt that the figure may rise because the entire village is like a killing field with the stench of blood everywhere and many still missing”.
The attackers are thought to be from Loko in neighbouring Nasarawa state. After attacking residents and breaking into their homes, the Fulani herdsmen razed the village to the ground, destroying trees, food barns and farmland.
Residents in the village are of the predominantly Christian Egba ethnic group. Ethnic Fulani Muslims frequently attack Christian villages across Nigeria, killing residents and burning churches. Christians in north-eastern Nigeria also suffer attacks from the Islamist insurgency group Boko Haram, which focuses in particular on Christians, Western-style educational institutions and security/political targets....
