Biography
RONALD WILSON REAGAN (February 6, 1911 – June 5, 2004) was the 40th President of the United States (1981–1989). Prior to that, he was the 33rd Governor of California (1967–1975), and a radio, film and television actor. As president, Reagan implemented sweeping new political and economic initiatives. His supply-side economic policies, dubbed “Reaganomics”, advocated reducing tax rates to spur economic growth, controlling the money supply to reduce inflation, deregulation of the economy, and reducing government spending. In his first term he survived an assassination attempt, took a hard line against labor unions, and ordered an invasion of Grenada. He was re-elected in a landslide in 1984, proclaiming that it was “Morning in America.”

By James Beattie — More than half of the members of the House of Representatives signed a letter to the director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) opposing the Obama administration’s effort to ban ammunition for the AR-15. The AR-15 is the most popular rifle in the United States.The White House said a ban on .223 M855 “green tip” bullets will help save police officers’ lives, The Washington Times reported.
“We are looking at additional ways to protect our brave men and women in law enforcement, and believe that this process is valuable for that reason alone,” White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said Monday. The ATF is currently taking public comments on the proposed ban.
238 members of the House have signed a letter to ATF Director B. Todd Jones opposing the ban on the ammunition. The letter was spearheaded by Rep. Bob Goodlatte, R-Va., Chairman of the Judiciary Committee and the National Rifle Association’s Institute for Legislative Action (NRA-ILA).
“While the banning of these popular cartridges is the most visible and immediate effect of the ATF’s shifting policy, the ‘Framework’ has other serious implications,” the letter says. It continues:
It will, for example, inhibit the development and use of rifle ammunition containing non-lead materials, even as efforts are afoot both at the federal and state levels to impose bans or restrictions on lead ammunition. “This letter sends a clear message to President Obama that Congress opposes his attempt to use his pen and phone to thwart the will of the American people,” said Chris W. Cox, executive director of the NRA-ILA. “Obama said he would enact his gun control agenda ‘with or without Congress.’ He is now trying to make good on that promise.”

John Coleman, who co-founded the Weather Channel, shocked academics by insisting the theory of man-made climate change was no longer scientifically credible.

By Andy Curran, TPNN — All you need is a social security number and you can claim tax refunds for up to three years back. That’s the law. And with the upcoming expanded amnesty coming for up to four million illegal immigrant workers, that means four million new social security numbers and retroactive tax refund claims.
That sounds weird though, doesn’t it? Because the way I think of illegal aliens and taxes, is that I wouldn’t think that they would have paid any taxes while working here illegally. So where does the refund part come from?
It comes from the Earned Income Tax Credit provision which gives special refunds to low and middle income individuals and families, especially those with children. These refunds under this provision, when granted to illegal aliens, could result in multiple thousand dollar refunds per family and could cost taxpayers in this country billions.
House Republicans are trying to block amnesty by tying funding for a Homeland Security funding bill to provisions within the bill that block the amnesty program. Meanwhile, Senate republicans are beginning to side with Democrats as they do not want to be part of the coalition taking away funding from DHS.
Expanded amnesty has been put on hold for the moment thanks to a federal court who ruled that the president circumvented federal law when he issues the order without going through a period of public comment and review.
This federal court ruling is interesting, since when did the federal government care what the American people thought about policy before enacting such policy? Not that I’m too fond of executive orders, but I thought executive orders were specifically designed to go around that.
Am I missing something here?...
(Some experts have reported estimates that Obama’s unconstitutional amnesty will be granted not to 4 million, but rather, upward between 11-15 million illegals.)
