By Lea Speyer, Breaking Israel News — This week, former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and current Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) announced their intentions to run for their respective party’s ticket for president.Clinton, who has a long political career as a former first lady, New York Democratic senator, and secretary of state, is running in her second presidential campaign. Clinton’s last presidential campaign ended in defeat when she lost the Democratic Party’s nomination to current US President Barack Obama.
Rubio, a 43-year-old Cuban American, officially kicked off his campaign on Monday with an announcement in Miami. The junior senator has held his post since 2011 and has made quite a name for himself, adding a youthful fresh face to the Republican Party.
A major ally of Israel, the US plays a major role in the Jewish State’s ability to defend itself in an unstable region as well as pursue policies that further the interests of the country.
From peace negotiations with the Palestinians, the threat posed by a nuclear armed Iran, or day-to-day security issues, the commander-in-chief of the US has a large responsibility in protecting Israel and ensuring its survival.
While it is notoriously known that Democrats and Republicans do not see eye to eye on many matters, how do Clinton and Rubio stack up when it comes to Israel?...

By Joel Himelfarb, Newsmax — In the wake of a pressure campaign from Beijing, South Korea's defense ministry on Monday dismissed comments by a U.S. military official who said North Korea is able to mount a nuclear weapon on a missile capable of threatening the U.S. mainland, The Wall Street Journal reported.Adm. William Gortney, head of the U.S. Northern Command, said Pyongyang has the capability of mounting a nuclear weapon on the KN-08, a North Korean ICBM, and fire it at the continental United States. Gortney made the blockbuster revelation last week, veteran defense analyst Mark Langfan wrote in Arutz Sheva.
Gortney expressed confidence that the U.S. could knock down such a missile if launched by North Korea or Iran. But he also acknowledged that it is "very difficult" for the United States to counter the threat because U.S. intelligence cannot follow these mobile ICBMs to provide a warning that they are about to be launched, the Israeli website reported....

By Brian Lilley, Ben Shapiro’s Truth Revolt — Moments after making his announcement that he is running for president at Miami's Freedom Tower, Senator Marco Rubio appeared on Hannity to call out President Barack Obama's failed foreign policy.Sitting in what was once a processing center for refugees fleeing the communist revolution in Cuba, Rubio said Obama should have responded to Cuban President Raul Castro's claim that America has been oppressing Cuba.
"The person who has been oppressing the people of Cuba is Fidel Castro and now his brother Raul," Rubio said. And I wish we had a president attending there that would have reminded the world, and the hemisphere, and Raul Castro of the true nature of the Cuban regime. It is a country that now enslaves 13 million people with no opportunity, no future, no political freedom."
Rubio, whose parents are Cuban immigrants, called Cuba a country that helps rouge nations such as North Korea and harbors fugitives of American justice including cop killers.
