Boston U. Professor Gets Federal Funding For Role-Playing Game

By Leo Hohmann, WND — A Boston University professor has defended to WND his creation of a Common Core-compliant lesson plan that uses role-playing workshops to teach students to sympathize with Hamas, create a Palestinian state and divide the city of Jerusalem.

Professor Carl Hobert’s “Whose Jerusalem?” project has been lauded by those at the pinnacle of the education establishment as an important work that will, in the words of Boston University School of Education Dean Hardin Coleman, “help students acquire the skills they need” in conflict resolution “to be successful in the 21st century.”

But the role-playing exercises have also come under fire recently from pro-Israel groups. One group, Boston-based Americans for Peace and Tolerance headed by Charles Jacobs, released a 27-minute documentary film last month that derides Hobert’s project as an “attempt to indoctrinate” rather than educate.

The role-playing games where students pretend to represent Arab, Israeli or American interests have been used in hundreds of high schools across America, Hobert told WND. Last year, the program was added to the Common Core-approved list of curricula and received Race to the Top funding from the U.S. Department of Education. The workshop is presented in many schools as part of a “global education” initiative, which is a strong focus of Common Core-compliant curricula....

For days, the highways of Colorado will be packed with not only 300 Strykers but hundreds of other military trucks and humvees, taking off every half hour during convoy days and consisting of dozens of 15 to 30 vehicle convoys rather than just one huge US Army parade, for the 4 hour road trip. ”

Could it be possible that we are doing this to ourselves? Many want to try to link the rise and fall of precipitation levels to temperature variations, but there is something much more obvious that they are overlooking. Trees play an absolutely critical role in our water cycle, and every single minute the amount of land that is deforested around the globe is equivalent to 36 football fields. By extracting water from the soil and releasing it into the atmosphere, trees provide a critical link in the hydrologic cycle that we all depend upon. If there were no more trees, life on this planet would become exceedingly difficult for humanity. So the fact that we are literally ripping the lungs out of the planet is a very big deal.

Before we get more into deforestation, let’s take a look at the damage that this drought is inflicting all around the world right now. I have repeatedly written about the worst multi-year drought in the history of the state of California and about how we are headed for the worst water crisis this country has ever seen. At this point, 1,900 wells have already gone completely dry in California, and there has been so little precipitation that some toddlers have never actually seen rain…...

“On April 27, the U.S. Army sent a propaganda team to Texas to speak to the Bastrop County Commission about Jade Helm. For almost two hours, Lt. Col. Mark Lastoria spoke to more than 150 people. This video examines a portion of the session where he explained the Jade Helm logo.

He explained that the Jade Helm logo has a Dutch clog inserted in the artwork but his explanation defies history and is not accurate.

The Jade Helm exercise will also utilize military planning system software. This is the new direction of the DOD which will eventually incorporate the Big Brother Global Information Grid and make every free citizen a suspect.

The Lt. Col also admitted in a veiled manner, that the Jade Helm exercise will practice dealing with insurgents / freedom fighters.

And we don’t even know who these people are.

See Refugee Resettlement Watch: Working with the OIC and UN, tens of thousands of unscreened Muslims from the Middle East, Africa, the Balkans, etc, are being brought in and funneled to American Christian communities by NGOs that are funded almost completely by the US Government through grants and contracts to these non-governmental agencies. Plans are now in the works to import upwards of 80,000 totally unscreened Syrian refugees over the next year or two....

OBAMA: CLIMATE CHANGE “AN IMMEDIATE THREAT TO OUR NATIONAL SECURITY,”
CAUSED JIHAD IN NIGERIA AND SYRIA

Drought led to jihad in Nigeria, and drought, crop failures and high food prices led to jihad in Syria. But if poverty causes terrorism, one wonders why the world isn’t full of Haitian and Angolan terrorists. Also, poverty doesn’t cause terrorism. The Economist reported in 2010: “Social scientists have collected a large amount of data on the socioeconomic background of terrorists. According to a 2008 survey of such studies by Alan Krueger of Princeton University, they have found little evidence that the typical terrorist is unusually poor or badly schooled.” CNS News noted in September 2013 that “according to a Rand Corporation report on counterterrorism, prepared for the Office of the Secretary of Defense in 2009, ‘Terrorists are not particularly impoverished, uneducated, or afflicted by mental disease. Demographically, their most important characteristic is normalcy (within their environment). Terrorist leaders actually tend to come from relatively privileged backgrounds.’ One of the authors of the RAND report, Darcy Noricks, also found that according to a number of academic studies, ‘Terrorists turn out to be more rather than less educated than the general population.’”

This ridiculous claim from Obama is just more of his absolute unwillingness to acknowledge the real provenance of the jihad impulse in Islamic texts and teachings. It will result in taxpayer dollars by the hundreds of millions being showered upon the Nigerian government and factions deemed “moderate” in Syria, whatever the evidence to the contrary. Those millions will go for villas and BMWs for corrupt officials, while the forces of the global jihad continue to advance....

This 'JV squad' is on the march, scoring major victories -- both literal and symbolic. ISIS is also expanding its footprint within the chaotic, failed state of Libya, yet another consequence of the disastrous Obama/Hillary/Kerry foreign policy. The administration was briefed on the burgeoning threat of ISIS, with specificity over many months, but couldn't be bothered to develop a strategy to combat the barbaric terrorist army. Domestic political narratives were far too important, which also explains Obama's historic failure to achieve a status of forces agreement that could have safeguarded many of the extremely hard-fought gains in Iraq and contained ISIS' outbreak to Syria. But here we are today, and the White House would like you to stop worrying about it, thank you very much....
