By Garth Kant, WND — (WASHINGTON) “This is such an unbelievable betrayal of all those troops who were attacked, maimed and killed by these same Iran-backed Shi’ite terror militias in the 2000s.”That was the reaction of Iran expert Clare Lopez to the news that U.S. forces in Iraq are now supporting Iranian militias.
The headline of a Bloomberg article Monday blared: “Iran’s Forces and U.S. Share a Base in Iraq.”
But buried within the story was an item that Lopez found significantly more alarming.
According to the report, U.S. troops are not just cohabitating with Iran’s Shiite militia units, “But the U.S. is flying close air support missions for those forces.”

“Fighting on the same side of anything that includes this jihadist Iranian regime ought to be unthinkable,” Lopez told WND.

“I’ve been to Bethesda to visit soldiers maimed for life, missing arms & legs, thanks to EFPs (explosively formed projectiles) and IEDs (improvised explosive devices) in Iraq that came from Iranian factories & were set by these Iranian terror proxies,” Lopez told WND....

Jasper, American Thinker — Citing corruption, “backroom deal-making,” and leaks that show the Obama administration is violating its assurances not to include immigration in its trade agreements, Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas; shown on left) reversed his earlier support for Trade Promotion Authority (TPA) and voted Tuesday against the cloture measure to end debate on Fast Track authority for the president. Even with Cruz’s defection, however, President Obama and his Republican allies in the Senate succeeded in getting the 60-vote super-majority they needed to cut off debate. The 60-37 vote sets up a vote on TPA itself, which is scheduled for Wednesday. If it passes then, it will go to President Obama’s desk to be signed into law. Although most commentators are viewing TPA passage now as a done deal, it is still possible that it could be derailed again, as recent history has shown the battles over these pseudo-“free trade” pacts are full of surprises.In an op-ed published on Brietbart.com today, Senator Cruz explained why he has switched from pro to anti on TPA. “The American people do not trust President Obama. And they do not trust Republican leadership in Congress,” Cruz wrote. “And the reason is simple: for far too long, politicians in Washington have not told the truth.”
As a general matter, Cruz said, he supports free trade. “But TPA in this Congress has become enmeshed in corrupt Washington backroom deal-making, along with serious concerns that it would open up the potential for sweeping changes in our laws that trade agreements typically do not include,” the Texas senator noted....

Both have publicly stated that they consider Israel and its leadership to be sponsors of terroristic acts.Riham Osman, seated at the “President’s Table” Tuesday night, is the communications coordinator for the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC), a group founded by members of the Muslim Brotherhood that has challenged the U.S. designation of Hamas and Hezbollah as terrorist groups.
Osman herself has engaged in toxic rhetoric when it comes to the state of Israel.
In March, she described Israel and its Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as sponsors of terrorism.
On July 28, 2014, during Israel’s defensive war against Palestinian terror group Hamas, Osman claimed that the Jewish state “murdered 1,000 innocent civilians.” The same day, she opined that if “the devil was in human form,” it would “look, speak, and act like Netanyahu.”...

In a statement issued on June 19 by the United Nations Working Group of Experts on People of African Descent (yes, that actually exists), committee chairwoman Mireille Fanon Mendes-France demanded that “urgent measures must be taken to prevent gun violence.” Making a point of distinguishing this crime for its effect on “the security of Afro-Americans,” the UN group sent their “heartfelt condolences to the people of the United States of America.”
If the United Nations has its way, there will much more to mourn about in the United States of America. As part of the global effort to grant monopoly control of weapons of all sizes to UN-approved “state actors,” the Arms Trade Treaty mandates the forcible disarmament of all others.
The scheme was endorsed in the “name of the people of the United States” by Secretary of State John Kerry on September 25, 2013.
“I am very pleased to have signed this treaty here today. I signed it because President Obama knows that from decades of efforts that at any time that we work with — cooperatively to address the illicit trade in conventional weapons, we make the world a safer place.
