By Garth Kant, WND — “(WASHINGTON) While the mainstream media have focused on what the upcoming Supreme Court decision on same-sex marriage will mean to the LGBT community, U.S. Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, is calling attention to what it could mean for much of the rest of America, especially schools and religious institutions.
The senator told WND, if the justices legalize “gay” marriage, it could lead to the closing of numerous schools and possibly churches, although he certainly hoped it would not come that. But the prospect is why he will introduce legislation to guarantee religious liberties.
At issue is a statement that many find chilling, made by President Obama’s representative at the Supreme Court, Solicitor General Donald Verrilli.
During oral arguments on Obergfell v. Hodges in April, Solicitor Verrilli conceded to Justice Samuel Alito that, should same-sex marriage be legalized, religious schools that do not accept a new definition of marriage would be in danger of losing their tax-exempt non-profit status.
“It’s certainly going to be an issue. I don’t deny that,” were Verrilli’s exact words. “I don’t deny that, Justice Alito. It is it is going to be an issue.”
Lee will introduce legislation to protect the First Amendment rights of those institutions and individuals who would not accept a definition of marriage other than one of a union between a man and a woman.
The bill was called the Marriage and Religious Freedom Act in the last session of Congress, and Lee said it is undergoing a few minor tweaks before it is reintroduced.

The North Carolina Senate has voted to override the governor’s veto of a bill that would allow some judges to opt out of participating in same-sex ceremonies.As previously reported, S.B. 2 was introduced earlier this year by Sen. Phil Berger (R-Rockingham) to allow magistrates to recuse themselves from officiating over the services, as well as to permit register of deeds workers to opt out of issuing licenses due to religious objections. The bill comes with one condition: that the individual remove themselves from the marriage business altogether.
“Every magistrate has the right to recuse from performing all lawful marriages … based upon any sincerely held religious objection,” it reads. “Such recusal shall be upon notice to the chief district court judge and is in effect for at least six months from the time delivered to the chief district court judge.”
“Every assistant register of deeds and deputy register of deeds has the right to recuse from issuing all lawful marriage licenses under this Chapter based upon any sincerely held religious objection,” the bill continues. “Such recusal shall be upon notice to the register of deeds and is in effect for at least six months from the time delivered to the register of deeds.”
In February, the Senate voted 32-16 in favor of the bill, sending the matter on to the House, which likewise passed the measure 67-43.
But homosexual advocates in the state urged Gov. Pat McCrory to veto the legislation, stating that judges shouldn’t have the right to decline to participate simply because of their religious convictions. On Thursday, McCrory, who was raised Presbyterian, vowed to do just that....

No court, legislative body or majority of the people possesses the moral, legal or Constitutional authority to re-define what God Almighty Himself has already explicitly defined, ordained and instituted.
Words have meaning and can't be arbitrarily re-defined. Marriage is and has always been the union of one man and one woman. Period! Any attempt by the Supreme Court to re-define marriage would be legally null and void, not the "law of the land," and MUST be rejected and ignored as the legal nullity it would be by every individual sovereign state in the Union.
Abraham Lincoln's position was clear on the immoral and Unconstitutional Dred Scott opinion which declared Black people as being less than fully human.
In His First Inaugural Address, 1861, President Lincoln said, "I do not forget the position assumed by some that constitutional questions are to be decided by the Supreme Court, nor do I deny that such decisions must be binding in any case upon the parties to a suit as to the object of that suit, while they are also entitled to very high respect and consideration in all parallel cases by other departments of the government. And while it is obviously possible that such decision may be erroneous in any given case, still the evil effect following it, being limited to that particular case, with the chance that it may be overruled and never become a precedent for other cases, can better be borne than could the evils of a different practice. At the same time, the candid citizen must confess that if the policy of the government upon vital questions affecting the whole people is to be irrevocably fixed by decisions of the Supreme Court, the instant they are made in ordinary litigation between parties in personal actions, the people will have ceased to be their own rulers, having to that extent practically resigned their government into the hands of that eminent tribunal."

By Sandy Fitzgerald, Newsmax — Anti-jihadist activist Pamela Geller, the original target of two Boston terror suspects, said Thursday that she's now under "24-hour guard," but that such threats will come against "anybody that speaks critically of Islam," and she plans to keep up her fight."I am fine, or as well as can be expected," Geller said in a highly-charged interview with CNN's Chris Cuomo on the network's "New Day" program. “They are coming after me for violating the Sharia, violating the blasphemy laws, and they mean to come after everybody that doesn’t abide by, voluntarily, the blasphemy laws under the Islamic law.”
But such threats aren't surprising, she told Cuomo.
"We see this as going on across Europe, and even in the Middle East and Africa, in Bangladesh," Geller said. "Hundreds of thousands of Muslims have marched for the death penalty for bloggers, that they be put to death."
Geller was the organizer of an anti-jihad event in Garland, Texas, which was targeted by two Islamic State (ISIS)-motivated men who ended up being killed outside the event.
“It’s interesting in Muslim countries under Sharia, there is a death penalty, and in the West, you are not assassinated but your character is assassinated if you criticize Islam,” Geller argued with Cuomo. “That’s where we are right now.”
And while the show host asked her if maybe she has gone too far, she argued that the right of freedom of speech should not warrant violent acts.
“Drawing a cartoon, an innocuous cartoon, warrants chopping my head off?” she asked Cuomo. “That’s too far? I understand this. They are going to come for you, too, Chris. They are coming for everybody. And the media should be standing with me ... and by submitting to Islamic law, that’s what you are doing?”...

A ten-day US Army urban military training exercise has begun in Flint, Michigan with explosions rocking neighborhoods and scaring residents who had no idea what was actually happening.
With less than three hours between a city press release and the beginning of the exercise, residents were left in the dark about the urban military training until the last possible moment. Most had no idea what was happening as their homes shook from the force of the simulated explosions.

By Shoebat Foundation — By RS: Breaking tonight on CNN is the news that Pamela Geller was in fact one of the beheading targets of 26-year-old Usaama Rahim, a Muslim jihadi that police shot dead yesterday in Boston:“Usaamah Rahim, who was fatally shot after waving a military knife at law enforcement officers, was originally plotting to behead Pamela Geller, an activist and conservative blogger, law enforcement sources told CNN on Wednesday.”
CNN host Erin Burnett gets Geller on the phone, and during the interview sites the Southern Poverty Law Center suggesting that Pamela Geller is the most visible and flamboyant figurehead of the anti-Muslim movement as they list her group as a ‘hate group’. She emphasizes the ‘hate group’ thing a couple of times, and then asks Geller if she is stoking the flames of this ‘hate’ and if she relishes being the target of these attacks.
Talk about blaming the victim. Of course Geller responded by asking ‘who self promotes to get killed?’, pointing out the absurdity of the question.
Burnett also suggests in this interview that ‘two people died’ at Geller’s drawing Muhammad competition, as if to suggest they were bystanders who were victims of Geller’s hate or something, never mentioning that it was the terrorists themselves who died. Of course Geller corrected her. ...
