“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves,
and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

Today there are numerous threats that are attempting to bring about the demise of America. What makes them far more dangerous than those in times gone by? Today the threats exist from within. We have leadership that ignores, denies, mocks, is ashamed of and has abandoned the God of our nation’s founders.
Dr. Youssef starts with Old Testament Israel to show how in a crisis, there was one man who refused to give in to discouragement and apathy and who was willing to sacrifice and trust God on behalf of the nation. That man was Nehemiah. In spite of having access to the high power of a pagan emperor and living in luxury, he wept for Jerusalem. He went on to pray and to plan for that defenseless city.
In our own nation, chaplains are being muzzled, school curriculums denigrate our Christian history while Hollywood lies about and denies our biblical foundation. The various 'walls' such as those of government, politics, the economy and more are broken down, just like the physical walls of Jerusalem in Nehemiah's day.
Yet there is hope. We have the chance to see God manifesting his power once again but only if we follow Nehemiah's example and instead of giving in to anger, despair, indifference, apathy, complacency, negativity and being calloused, we too can pray and we can plan.
