REV. GRAHAM: GOD MIGHT SMITE OBAMA WITH LIGHTNING

By Bob Unruh, WND — One of the highest-profile Christian leaders in America, Franklin Graham of Samaritan’s Purse and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, is hinting that Barack Obama is deliberately setting himself up in opposition to God.

On his Facebook page Tuesday, Graham, who has kept up a steady stream of comments on the “gay”-rights agenda, brought up the subject again.

He noted Obama’s decision to promote homosexuality with colored lights at the White House after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled June 26 the Constitution grants same-sex couples a right to marriage.

“He had the gall to disgrace the White House by lighting it up with the gay pride rainbow colors,” Graham wrote. “This is arrogantly flaunting sinful behavior in the face of Almighty God. My advice? He might want to have some extra lightning rods installed on the roof of the White House.”

His complete statement: “A lot has changed in three short years! Just three years ago, the president was on record as holding to the biblical definition of marriage. Now he can’t say enough about his support for the LGBT agenda – and right after the Supreme Court’s decision to legalize same-sex marriage, he had the gall to disgrace the White House by lighting it up with the gay pride rainbow colors to celebrate. This is arrogantly flaunting sinful behavior in the face of Almighty God. My advice? He might want to have some extra lightning rods installed on the roof of the White House.”

In fact, in one translation of the Bible, Hosea 6:5 cites God saying, “This is why I have used the prophets to cut them down; I have killed them with the words of My mouth. My judgment strikes like lightning.”...

JIMMY CARTER: ‘JESUS WOULD APPROVE GAY MARRIAGE’

HuffPost Live’s Marc Lamont Hill asked Carter on Tuesday whether he believes Jesus would approve of gay marriage, and Carter said he does.

“I believe Jesus would. I don’t have any verse in scripture. … I believe Jesus would approve gay marriage, but that’s just my own personal belief. I think Jesus would encourage any love affair if it was honest and sincere and was not damaging to anyone else, and I don’t see that gay marriage damages anyone else,” he said....

By Billy Hallowell, TheBlaze Faith — Following the Supreme Court’s gay marriage ruling, an activist is calling for the removal of “all homophobic military chaplains” who openly share their biblical views about sexuality, pushing back against claims that gays and lesbians are “sinners” for “choosing” their lifestyle.

Mikey Weinstein, president of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation, a group that the monitors perceived violations of the separation of church and state, originally proclaimed in an op-ed published following last month’s gay marriage ruling that chaplains vocally opposed to same-sex nuptials and homosexuality should voluntarily vacate their role, or be terminated by the Department of Defense.

“If chaplains believe that they must preach to their troops a message that their [lesbian, gay, bi] brothers and sisters are ‘sinners’ because they have ‘chosen to be [lesbian, gay, bi]’ then MRFF demands that such chaplains either voluntarily leave the military or be immediately terminated,” Weinstein said in an email to TheBlaze.

Weinstein argued that anyone who preaches such sentiment in the military — even those who are not chaplains — should also be removed, as he believes that these denunciations are destructive to the cohesiveness, uniformity and morale that is sought within the armed forces....

By Heather Clark, Christian News Network — COLUMBIA, South Carolina — A South Carolina state senator denounced the celebration of homosexuality in the White House and across the country during an impassioned speech today on the Senate floor.

“I heard our president sing a religious hymn [at the Charleston church funeral], and then Friday night, I watched the White House [be] lit up in the abomination colors,” Sen. Lee Bright lamented. “It’s time for the church to rise up. It’s time for the state of South Carolina to rise up.”

The senator made his remarks during a debate about whether the Confederate flag should be removed from the state capitol building.

“Romans chapter one is clear; the Bible is clear,” Bright declared. “This nation was founded on Judeo-Christian principles and they are under assault by men in black robes who are not elected by you. We’ve got to make a stand. ... Let’s deal with the national sins that we face today.”

He asked that county clerks not have to choose between their jobs and their faith.

“We talk about abortion, but this gay marriage thing I believe will [turn us into] one nation gone under,” Bright stated. “Like President Reagan said, ‘If we’re not one nation under God, we’ll be one nation gone under.'”

“And for us to sanctify deviate behavior from five judges—It’s time for us to make our stand, Church,” he continued. “It’s time for us to make our stand and we’re not doing it.”...

GUN USED IN SAN FRANCISCO
SANCTUARY CITY MURDER

Breitbart News — SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — The gun used in the seemingly random slaying of a woman on a San Francisco pier belonged to a federal agent, a law enforcement official briefed on the matter said Tuesday.

The official, who was not authorized to speak publicly about the case and spoke on condition of anonymity, said a police check of the weapon’s serial number shows it belonged to a federal agent. The official declined to elaborate further.

Juan Francisco Lopez Sanchez pleaded not guilty Tuesday to first-degree murder in last week’s shooting. Sanchez told two television stations he found the gun wrapped in a shirt on the pier.

Authorities say Sanchez is in the United States illegally and has been deported five times.

San Francisco officials released the Mexican national from jail in April, ignoring an Immigration and Customs Enforcement request to detain him so deportation proceedings could begin....
