THE TERM “Christian Transhumanist” is probably considered an oxymoron by many of us. That’s understandable; some of the leaders in the Transhumanist movement openly state their goals for humanity to be omnipotence or transformation into a Borg-like hive mind.Rev. Dr. Christopher Benek, associate pastor at First Presbyterian Church in Fort Lauderdale, argues that the time has come for Christians to embrace the movement — not to become gods, but to try to direct this technology before it’s too late.
