• Mount Aso, a volcano on the southern Japanese island of Kyushu, erupted Monday, sending huge plumes of black and then white smoke more than 6,500 feet into the air.
• Large plumes of smoke filled the sky above the fast-moving, massive Valley Fire in Lake County, California. Four firefighters from a helicopter crew were burned while battling the 400-acre blaze that began in Lake County.
• Ayman al-Zawahri calls on young Muslim men in the West to focus on "moving the war to the heart of the homes and cities" of the West and the U.S. in particular.
• Muslims and Israeli police clashed at Jerusalem's flashpoint Al-Aqsa mosque compound for a second straight day on Monday as Jews celebrated their new year and protesters vowed to protect Islam's third-holiest site.
• Smog from forest fires in Indonesia shrouds Sumatra island after this week prompting the cancellation of flights and warnings for people to stay indoors, while pushing air quality to unhealthy levels in neighbouring Singapore and Malaysia.

As Pope Francis prepares to meet with Obama at the White House in an historic first-ever visit, Obama is stacking the deck with a potpourri of LGBT standouts to meet with the Vatican CEO. The question that remains to be answered is whether Obama is doing this to show his obvious disdain for the Bible’s teachings on homosexuality, or more likely, to aid Pope Francis with his efforts to bring the LGBT into the Catholic Church. PRESIDENT OBAMA WILL APPARENTLY TEST JUST HOW FAR POPE FRANCIS’ NOTORIOUS TOLERANCE WILL GO BY INVITING A ROGUE’S GALLERY OF PEOPLE OPPOSED TO CATHOLIC TEACHING TO GREET THE PONTIFF AT THE WHITE HOUSE DURING HIS VISIT NEXT WEEK.In a stunning show of political indecorum, Obama has invited a series of individuals who publicly flout Catholic teaching, including a pro-abortion religious sister, a transgender woman and the first openly gay Episcopal bishop, along with at least two Catholic gay activists.
One of the invitees, retired Episcopal bishop Gene Robinson, made history by becoming the first openly gay episcopal bishop in 2003 and subsequently the first to divorce his gay partner in 2014, after having previously separated from his wife of 14 years. He has attended a number of religious events with the Obama administration, offering a prayer at President Obama’s inauguration in 2009 and taking part in the 2014 National Prayer Breakfast.
Mateo Williamson, a cross-dressing woman and former co-chairman of the Transgender Caucus for Dignity USA, has also received an invitation to the White House for Pope Francis’ visit. Williamson says that though she now thinks of herself as a man, she continues to be attracted to males. “Today I identify as a gay man and before that was difficult to understand because I thought that in order to be transgender, in order to be a transgender male that I had to be attracted to females but I never have throughout my entire life.”
Though Pope Francis has said that he doesn’t believe in judging persons and is ready to welcome anyone in Christ’s name, he has also said that Catholics do not accept the modern mentality of transgenderism and once said that gay marriage is the devil’s “attempt to destroy God’s plan.”

With Russia and Iran now undisputedly backing Syrian President Bashar al-Assad by sending troops and weapons into Syria, a newly-released Bible Codes video reveals that the partnership has Messianic implications for the Jewish people.
International Bible Codes expert Rabbi Mattiyahu Glazerson explains that the recent cooperation among Russia, Iran and Syria to boost the standing of Assad is one step in the final redemptive process.
In the Bible Codes table, which comes from the Book of Deuteronomy, Glazerson points out codes embedded in the Biblical text that describe the current situation, such as Rusiya (Russia) and b’Suria (in Syria), Iran and the Hebrew letters tav, shin, ayin and vav (תשעו), which have the numerical value of 776. This is a reference to 5776, the current Hebrew year.
Glazerson points out that the end of Deuteronomy 6:14 and Deuteronomy 6:15, which appear in the table, tells exactly what plans Iran has in store for Israel...

Here’s another end-times commentary based on reports from Clean TV Jerusalem Bureau Chief John McTernan.Once again the eyes of the world focus on Jerusalem and its Temple Mount. With Islamic attacks against Israeli security forces and injuries there mounting, daily, the political intrigue surrounding the violence is also escalating.
Author John McTernan reports on the rioting at his Facebook blog, as follows, “Once again, the Temple Mount comes into play as the focus of world attention.
This is not going away but is going to be more and more intense.
It is very possible that the Temple Mount could trigger a war or throw gasoline on a conflict to make it an all-out war.
Notice the timing how the Temple Mount is coming into focus at this time as so much is happening now in the Middle East.
In the very end, the final battle that triggers the prophesied coming of Messiah will be fought over Jerusalem and the Temple Mount.
Events that we are seeing are falling into place for that final battle.”
In fact, the Arab League has protested the “Judaization of the Al Aqsa Mosque by Israel, calling for action against the Jewish State, according to a local TV outlet.

The cinder blocks and rocks piled up inside the Al Aqsa Mosque (Islam's third holiest site) that turned prayer carpets into filthy rugs are a vivid reminder of the stark differences between the Muslim and Christian concepts of the sacred. From a Muslim point of view, dirty carpets are a small price to pay in the heroic effort to protect the holy place from the much greater filth of infidels.
On October 17, 2014, Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abass called upon fellow Muslims to do whatever they could to prevent the entrance of Jews to the Temple Mount. The reason given was that "they have no right to enter them and they have no right to defile them [the mosques]." ...
