A NATION GIVES ITSELF OVER

CHRISTIAN INFORMATION RADIO
WITH HOST JIM SCHNEIDER

“THE CHURCH WILL CONTINUE TO BE
EVEN MORE IRRELEVANT...”

This broadcast began with Jim Schneider sharing and commenting on troubling comments from President Obama as he gave his speech at the Democratic National Committee's LGBT gala held at Gotham Hall in New York City this past Sunday. Below are some of the President's thoughts:

'7 Years ago we came together not just to elect a President but to reaffirm our faith in that most American of ideals, the notion that people no matter where they come from, what they look like, what their last name is or who they love, can change this country. And from the beginning that faith was tested by a great recession, by political obstruction, by established barriers and everyday indignities all of which reminded us that our march toward equality was unfinished.'

He went on to say, 'Tonight we live in an America where 'don't ask, don't tell' is something that don't exist. We live in America where a growing number of older generations recognize that love is love and younger generations don't even know what all the fuss was about. And tonight, thanks to the unbending sense of justice passed down through generations of citizens who never gave up hope that we could bring this country closer to our founding ideals that all of us are created equal, we now live in America where our marriages are equal as well.'

Several paragraphs later he indicated that while we cherish religious freedom, this freedom grants no one the right to deny our fellow Americans their constitutional rights.

Other LGBT related items included:

The 2015 Corporate Equality Index compiled by the pro-homosexual Human Rights Campaign has a record 366 major businesses earning a perfect score of 100% indicating that th HRC completely approves of their policies, practices and benefits for their LGBT employees. This is up from just 13 businesses with a perfect score in 2002.

Frito Lay released its 'rainbow' colored Doritos with proceeds going to support the 'It Gets Better' campaign.

The largest Presbyterian denomination in the United States has for the first time appointed an openly gay person to serve as interim executive director for one of its agencies.

Regarding homosexual marriage, Pastor and author Rob Bell told Oprah Winfrey that ‘...the church will continue to be even more irrelevant when it quotes letters from 2,000 years ago as their best defense when you have in front of you flesh and blood people who are your brothers and sisters and aunts and uncles and co-workers and neighbors and they love each other and they just want to go through life with someone.'

The United States has the greatest number of listings for calendar events for the LGBT community compared to any other nation. Jim went through an extensive list of these events and what they are specifically attempting to celebrate.
