The biblical KING DAVID OF ISRAEL was known for his diverse skills as both a warrior and a writer of psalms. In his 40 years as ruler, between 1010 and 970 B.C. (before Christ), he united the people of Israel, led them to victory in battle, conquered land and paved the way for his son, Solomon, to build the Holy Temple. Almost all knowledge of him is derived from the books of the Prophets and Writings: Samuel I and II, Kings I and Chronicles I.

SHABBAT SHALOM - שבת שלום
WHAT DOES ‘SHABBAT SHALOM’ MEAN?
This literally means “peaceful sabbath” in Hebrew.
This is the standard greeting between Jews on Shabbat, from sundown on Friday until sundown on Saturday, but is often used as early as Thursday.
Shalom: peace/completeness or wholeness and general greeting for all time.
Shabbat: the seventh day of the week for the Jewish calendar. A day off (literally a day to be set apart from all other days-for introspection, spiritual growth, and renewal) - beginning on Friday at sundown and ending on Saturday evening when three stars appear in the sky and can be viewed together.
