An umbrella organization, #DisruptJ20, also known as the DC Counter-Inaugural Welcoming Committee, describes its mission as “building the framework needed for mass protests to shut down the inauguration of Donald Trump and planning widespread direct actions to make that happen.” Such actions will include setting up blockades at checkpoints to prevent people from gaining access to the inauguration proceedings. In addition to attempting to shut down the inauguration ceremonies and any related celebrations, they are “planning to paralyze the city itself.” A related group calling itself the “Anti-Capitalist & Anti-Fascist Bloc” is seeking to mobilize thousands of comrades, in its own words, “to disrupt Trump’s inauguration, rejecting the tyranny, greed, and bigotry he represents.” It warns those people coming to Washington to celebrate the peaceful transfer of power in this country to expect instead to “find the inaugural ceremonies reduced to a total clusterf***.” That could well include property damage and attempts to goad the police into confrontations that the organizers of the disruptive protests would gleefully exploit...

VIA SKYWATCH EDITOR — The much-discussed Paris Middle East Conference ended Sunday with a rather bland statement reaffirming support for a two-state solution, and a call to stop violence and “ongoing settlement activity.” Some 70 countries and international organizations, including the foreign ministers of more than 30 states, attended the conference, which included neither Israeli nor Palestinian participants. Israel adamantly opposed the conference, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu repeating on Sunday that he felt it was “futile” and a relic of an approach to the Middle East that will end on Friday with the inauguration of US President-elect Donald Trump. The conference represents the “final palpitations of yesterday’s world. Tomorrow will look a lot different, and tomorrow is very close,” he said at the weekly cabinet meeting. The final statement did, however, adopt the anti-settlement UN Security Resolution 2334, as well as the six principles that US Secretary of State John Kerry laid out in his December 28 speech...

The radical left is promising to make this the most chaotic inauguration in U.S. history. As I have written about previously, anarchists plan to do whatever they can to disrupt the inauguration of Donald Trump, but their plans are not just limited to the main event. As far as the protesters are concerned, any event that has anything to do with the inauguration of Trump is fair game, and so if you plan to attend a lunch, a ball or even a prayer meeting you will need to take precautions. Every single officially sanctioned event is on their radar, and those that do not have heavy security will be easier for them to hit.
The anarchist leaders know that their people aren’t likely to be able to get anywhere near Trump, and so they are focusing on how they can make headlines in as many other ways as possible. According to the Daily Caller, this includes disrupting “several of the balls on inauguration night.”...
