RUSH LIMBAUGH TELLS THE TRUE STORY OF THANKSGIVING - 2017

Now, the real story of Thanksgiving, I wasn’t even taught the whole version. Like everybody, I was taught a sanitized, modern version that has elements of political correctness and multiculturalism. I was taught that Thanksgiving was about the Pilgrims being saved from starvation and deprivation by the loving, good-hearted, compassionate, and caring stewards of the earth, the Indians. The Pilgrims didn’t know how to grow corn, food, maize, popcorn, anything of the sort when they got here. The Indians showed them all of that. And Thanksgiving was the Pilgrims inviting the Indians over for dinner to thank the Indians for saving them, the Native Americans. Everybody’s been taught a version of that.

But, ladies and gentlemen, it isn’t true. The story of the Pilgrims begins in the early part of seventeenth century. For those of you in Rio Linda, that would be the 1600s.
THE CHURCH OF ENGLAND UNDER KING JAMES WAS PERSECUTING ANYBODY AND EVERYBODY WHO DID NOT RECOGNIZE ITS ABSOLUTE CIVIL AND SPIRITUAL AUTHORITY. THE GOVERNMENT WAS GOD, THE GOVERNMENT WAS THE RELIGION, THE GOVERNMENT WAS THE CHURCH. AND THOSE WHO CHALLENGE THAT, THOSE WHO BELIEVED STRONGLY IN FREEDOM OF WORSHIP, WERE HUNTED DOWN, THEY WERE IMPRISONED AND SOMETIMES EXECUTED FOR THEIR RELIGIOUS BELIEFS IN 1600S ENGLAND.

So a group of separatists, people that didn’t want any part of this, they’d had their limit, first fled to Holland. That’s right. The Pilgrims did not come on the same route as the Titanic. They didn’t come from England. They fled to Holland and they established a community there. And after 11 years, 40 of them agreed to make the journey to what was then called the New World, where they knew they would certainly face hardships. The Puritans who came to Massachusetts on the Mayflower weren’t emissaries of religious tolerance. They actually left liberal Holland to push for “the glory of God and advancement of the Christian Faith,” as it says right in the Mayflower compact. Turns out that Christianity was more important than multiculturalism to the heroes of Plymouth Rock. And Christianity, not multiculturalism, saved the Puritans. The first winter, half the new settlers died. That was because of drought and plague, and failure to understand the crops. Then Squanto showed up.

EDITOR’S NOTE: Like most things taught to us in schools, be they public or private, there is much untruth we have absorbed over our lifetimes that must be unlearned. The actual account of events that led to the first Thanksgiving is one of those things. The first settlers who came to this land were not looking to create a land where “religious tolerance” could exist. Instead, the Puritans came here from Holland for “the glory of God and advancement of the Christian Faith”. “Visiting family for Thanksgiving can be challenging,” Planned Parenthood observes in its Tumblr post titled “Thanksgiving: How to Deal with Difficult People.”

“Your dinner companions may say hurtful, offensive things about race, gender identity, sexual harassment and assault, birth control coverage, abortion, or any number of topics — which can feel stressful, isolating, or enraging,” the abortion provider adds, extending four tips on how to “feel safe” if you are planning to be around other people for the holiday.

First, Planned Parenthood says you can engage in “self care” by making decisions that allow you to “feel safe,” including the options of “not going home at all, going home with a friend or partner by your side, or only visiting for dinner.”

Dressed Silicon Valley-casual in jeans and flanked by a PR rep rather than cloaked acolytes, the engineer known for self-driving cars—and triggering a notorious lawsuit—could be unveiling his latest startup instead of laying the foundations for a new religion. But he is doing just that. Artificial intelligence has already inspired billion-dollar companies, far-reaching research programs, and scenarios of both transcendence and doom. Now Levandowski is creating its first church. The new religion of artificial intelligence is called Way of the Future. It represents an unlikely next act for the Silicon Valley robotics wunderkind at the center of a high-stakes legal battle between Uber and Waymo, Alphabet’s autonomous-vehicle company.
