Remember when two black men sitting in a Starbucks in Philly were asked to leave by the manager? The men were not ordering anything, yet refused the request to leave. Apparently feeling their behavior was suspicious, the manager eventually called the police, who ended up taking the men away in handcuffs. A furor ensued across the country, calling the incident discriminatory. Non-stop media coverage began as Starbucks fired the manager, issued multiple apologies and closed all its stores for a day of diversity training for all employees.
Social justice warriors were consulted (except for the Jewish ones that were initially consulted but later kicked off the advisory group since some of the other members of the open-minded, diverse people in the group couldn’t take that much diversity). Fast forward less than six months...

The attackers threw firebombs at the house of worship forcing dozens of Jewish teens to take refuge in the cellar while waiting for the police. The synagogue was already protected by heavy concrete barricades and bulletproof doors. A frail Star of David hangs over the formidable stone building made more so by added barriers and defenses against terrorist attacks. A quarter of the membership fees for the congregants go to cover security costs. Three years earlier, the Rabbi had received a threat in broken Swedish warning, “Soon will come the time when the Gothenburg synagogue will be destroyed to the ground with you inside, and then you too, you pig, will be killed in the eternal fire.”

VIA SKYWATCH EDITOR — The reproduction of the Arch of Palmyra, a Roman victory arch that stood as the entrance to a pagan temple for almost 2,000 years, will make an improbable appearance in Washington D.C. and the International Criminal Court in the Hague as a “symbol of Peace and Resilience.” The original Roman victory arch was built in Palmyra, Syria at the end of the second century CE. Originally it stood in front of the Temple of Bel where pagans worshiped the Mesopotamian god, also known as Ba’al, in a form of idol worship that figures prominently in the Bible. The temple was dedicated in 32 CE but was constructed on the site of a pre-existing temple that goes back to the third millennium BCE.
