I explained “Why California Pastors Must Stand Up to Government Tyranny.” I also tweeted about the bill. I asked: VWhat? A California bill that would FORBID pastors from saying homosexual acts are sinful? A bill REQUIRING them to affirm same-sex relationships and gender identity? It has been proposed!” One of my Twitter followers, a younger Christian man, challenged my reading of the bill. He insisted that it did not infringe on Christian liberties. Is he right? Let’s take a look at this bill more carefully. Once we do, you’ll understand why Christian legal organizations, along with pastors and ex-gay leaders in California, are so concerned.

Last week, as the world focused attention on the Hong Kong protests, a report came out that gruesomely underscored why the protesters felt led to protest. The report, issued by a London-based panel of international and medical experts, was entitled “Forced Organ Harvesting of Prisoners of Conscience in China.”
The “prisoners of conscience” are practitioners of Falun Gong, a combination of Buddhist-derived meditations, physical exercises, and morals. While this sounds harmless enough to Western ears, the Communist Party views Falun Gong as an existential threat. Twenty years ago, the government began a systematic crackdown on the practice and its practitioners, who numbered then around 70 million. Several hundred thousand practitioners were imprisoned without trial, and within ten years, an estimated 2,000 had died in custody.

To be clear, if implemented, the plans and policies of this movement will mark the end of not just The United States as a Constitutional Republic but of human decency. So if that statement seems a bit of an exaggeration consider that according to the left infants that can live outside the womb can now be legally murdered and in some cases have their tiny organs harvested for sale. It sounds more like a disgusting sci-fi horror movie than policy by a political party, but this is what they are selling to the American people.

But some researchers are looking into another way to address dangerous warming: hacking the climate. The technical term for this is geoengineering, and the technology generally involves either capturing carbon dioxide from the air and storing it, or manipulating the atmosphere to help cool the Earth. The risk is that the effects of geoengineering in one corner of the world could lead to unintended consequences in another. “The atmosphere has no walls,” Andrea Flossmann, a weather-modification expert with the World Meteorological Organization, said in a bulletin. “What you add may not have the desired effect in your vicinity, but by being transported along might have undesired effects elsewhere.” So if a rogue nation were to start a geoengineering project without international oversight or buy-in, some experts worry the unintended consequences could lead to war.
