I spend much of my time writing about the inevitable collapse of our economic and financial systems, but they are only one part of the story. These days, millions upon millions of us are spending countless hours in this “virtual world” that we have created, and that is preventing many of us from understanding what is really going on in “the real world”. Where I live, I can literally keep the doors wide open for hours without worrying about bugs coming in, because insect populations are disappearing at a pace that is frightening. They are calling it “the insect apocalypse”, and some scientists are warning that they could all be gone in 100 years. And this dramatic decline in the insect population is one of the main reasons why North America’s bird population is collapsing. In the old days, I remember the singing of birds often greeting me in the morning, but these days I am never awakened by birds. That might make sense if I lived right in the middle of a major city, but I don’t. I live in a very rural location, and I do see birds out here, but not nearly as many as I would expect.

A social ill takes place on three levels: the object level, the individual level, and the social level.
Take alcoholism. There’s the object, alcohol. There’s the choice that the individual makes to drink the alcohol. And, finally, there’s the social problems that can be blamed for widespread alcoholism.
The gun control movement operates in the same object-oriented space of the prohibitionist movement. For prohibitionists, the problem was gin. For the gun control movement, it’s all about the guns. Get rid of the gin and the guns, and the underlying problem goes away without having to do anything else.
While the old prohibitionism of sin substances, liquor, drugs, and pornography has been ridiculed and its legal infrastructure dismantled, the obsessive certainty that guns are inherently corrupting holds sway. The lefty media insists that the only solution to gun violence is prohibitionism and more prohibitionism.
Yet the argument for blaming guns is much weaker than the one for blaming drugs or alcohol. Alcohol and drugs are addictive compounds that shape how we think. Guns, unlike alcohol and drugs, aren’t addictive. Nor do they influence behavior. Their relationship to us remains an external one.

In an absolute stunning illustration of the last days Church of Laodicea that Jesus says He will “spue from His mouth”, students at Union Theological Seminary bow down before plants, worship them, and then confess their ‘climate sins’ to them. If I was an end times novelist, and I brought this story to my editor as a plot idea, he would throw me out of his office for suggesting something so stupid. And yet, this is real, and welcome to the end times.
“And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God; I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.” ~ Revelation 3:14-16 (KJV)
But you needn’t be too shocked or surprised by all this, a quick trip to the Union Theological Seminary website tells you that “Union is one of the first major seminaries in the U.S. to open its doors to new programs devoted to non-Christian communities.” What do they mean by that? They mean that they proudly teach Islam and Buddhism as part of their “interreligious engagement.” That is to say that Christianity and the Bible is not the only way to God or to Heaven. So be careful before you send your child off to a “christian college” because they just may come back as a Muslim, a Buddhist, or more likely as an atheist.
The one bright spot in all this end times theological slop is that if we are in the end times Church of Laodicean age, that’s a good thing because the next event on the timeline is the Pretribulation Rapture of the Church!
