Incidentally, Surgeon General, you might want to familiarize yourself with the OSHA standards that delineates the wearing of facial masks. You will find that it is against Federal Law to force the wearing of face masks for extended times, or in specific environments. You of all people should know that a bandana/mask covering the mouth and nose reduces the wearer’s oxygen levels to their heart and brain as well as forces the wearer to re-inhale their dirty, toxic carbon dioxide. Not all Americans are ignorant sheep.

The first homicide of the weekend occurred Friday night at 9:52 p.m. when a man burst through an apartment door “in the 8200 block of South Drexel Avenue” and opened fire, killing a 60-year-old man.

The order was reversed, but Collins has introduced an amendment to the 2021 National Defense Authorization Act to prevent similar orders in the future.

Genesis tells us that on the fourth day of creation, God spoke into existence the greater light of the sun, and the lesser light of the moon. All through the bible, in both Testaments, the sun is shown to us as a type or metaphor of Jesus Christ. Indeed, the blazing, all-consuming sun is an excellent picture of the white-hot holiness that is God, and a terrifying picture of His wrath and judgment. The last book of our Old Testament, Malachi, shows us this type picture of the sun as Jesus Christ in stunning technicolor.

“For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts.” - Malachi 4:1-3 (KJV)

To call Jesus Christ the ‘Sun of righteousness’ is about a clear a picture of the power of our Saviour as you’re going to get. When Saul met the risen Jesus on the Damascus road, he was allowed to view Him unfiltered, which caused Saul to immediately lose his sight and go blind for a season. In our physical world, there is nothing more powerful than the sun, created by the only begotten Son of God, who stands without equal in all eternity. I wonder if NASA ever thinks about these things while snapping photos of the sun?

Of course, the endless, burning fiery majesty of the sun is also an excellent picture of the nature of Hell, which burns with fire unquenchable. Whether you spend eternity burning in the Lake of Fire, or eternity with Jesus Christ in Heaven, you will find yourself in the midst of the power of God forever and ever. But I highly recommend you choose to be with Jesus in Heaven, over the endless, raging fires of Hell. You won’t like Hell one tiny, little bit.

In the House, even Democrats were shocked at how fast the leadership breezed through a dozen appropriations bills, making snap decisions on where to direct a whopping $1.4 trillion dollars. Is marking up 12 bills in 10 days a record? Maybe, staffers say. It certainly was “the fastest in anyone’s memory.” But faster, as the rest of America is about to find out, isn’t necessarily better. Especially when innocent lives are on the line.

It’s usually a tedious process. In the past, appropriations debates have dragged on for months, sometimes running right up against the midnight, fiscal-year deadline. And while Republicans are just as eager to finish the long slog as everyone else, this year’s debates were a depressing reminder of what Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-Calif.) party will do with more power if they get it.

For ranking members like Rep. Tom Cole (R-Okla.), it had already been a brutal week. He and the other conservatives watched their amendments to protect the president’s conscience and life policies lose on party-line votes to Democrats over and over again. On Tuesday, Rep. Andy Harris (R-Md.) felt his pain, trying — and failing — to get Democrats to join the other 94 percent of the country in opposing infanticide. He had the opportunity, as part of the military’s Tricare health insurance debate, to insist on certain standards of care. But newborn babies, liberals will tell you, don’t qualify.
