“Former Deputy Governor of Jericho, Amir Tsarfati was born to a Jewish family in Jerusalem. He grew up in the Jerusalem area and heard about the Messiah while living with a foster family as a high school senior. It was when he saw the “Jesus” film by Campus Crusade that he accepted Jesus into his heart, the turning point in his life. — Amir joined the Israel Defense Forces in 1990 and underwent basic training during the first Gulf War. He served for close to a year in the IDF Armored (Tank) Corps and after graduating from officer’s academy in 1992, he was stationed in Jericho. Shortly afterward, the peace process began and Jericho was the first city transferred to the Palestinian Authority. Amir, then 21, was appointed as active Deputy Governor of Jericho and the Jordan Valley, also becoming one of Israel’s military negotiators with the Palestinians.”
