The Last Enemy That Shall Be Destroyed Is Death

People are obsessed with sports teams, building plans, acquisitions, and entertainment of all sorts for one basic reason, to try and forget about the fact that death is waiting for them.

Every day about 160,00 people close their eyes in death, saved and lost, and step out into eternity. One day, if the Lord tarries, that will be you, and that will be me. The Bible says that death is our enemy, and in the Tribulation death will be personified riding on a pale horse. Not only that, death will continue all the way up to the Great White Throne Judgment in one form or another.

“The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.” 1 Corinthians 15:26 (KJV)

During the years of the pandemic, just about everyone at one time went to sleep wondering would they be the next to die, hooked up to a ventilator, struggling for breath before sliding away in a medically-induced coma. I personally know three people who died exactly like that. The number one topic was not COVID, not the lockdown, not the vaccine, but death itself as the world for a time was roused from its perennial spiritual slumber. This is why people are obsessed with hobbies, games, sports and a thousand other recreational activates, to distract themselves, if only for a short time, from the knowledge that death is waiting for them just around the corner. Today I would like to bring you a short, negative message about death that I hope will produce abundant fruit in your life.
