There Is But One Way To Study Your Bible If You Want God To Show You The Truth, And That Is By Rightly Dividing

There is a specific way that God commands us to study the holy scriptures if you want your Bible to reveal its truth to you, and that’s by rightly dividing and proper division.

Last night, I was reading the book ‘Commending The Faith’, a collection of sermons by 19th-century evangelist D.L. Moody, and he had a sermon on how to study the Bible which was quite illuminating. Moody did not have a high level of Bible knowledge, compared to someone like Scofield or Larkin, but he knew that the study of it was the ‘key’ to having power with God. We are commanded, by our apostle Paul, to study the scriptures in a particular way, by rightly dividing them according to proper division.

“Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers. Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.” 2 Timothy 2:14-16 (KJV)

On this episode of Rightly Dividing, we look around us today and see people teaching all sorts of varying things, all claiming to be right, yet many of these ‘correct teachings’ contradict the truth of the Bible. You have people like John MacArthur saying a person can take the Mark of the Beast and still go to Heaven, when Revelation 14:9-11 (KJB) clearly says the opposite. How can that be? You have someone like Andy Woods saying that the ‘falling away’ in 2 Thessalonians 2:3 (KJB) is the Rapture when the Bible plainly declares it to be the Laodicean apostasy of falling away from Bible doctrine. You have scores of Bible teachers who put the Church into the time of Jacob’s trouble, and teach Christians go through the Tribulation when Paul tells us the exact opposite. All of this error and confusion comes when the command to rightly divide the scriptures on dispensation lines is not followed, or followed insufficiently to lead the hear into Bible truth. On this episode of Rightly Dividing, we show you the God ordained manner of Bible study that you must do if you want the living scriptures to reveal its Truth to you.
