Pope Francis has been busy appointing men and women who support his vision of an affirming synodal church to positions where it matters.

As Groucho Marx would say, ‘what’s the secret word?’ Well, Groucho, the answer is ‘synod’. Yep, that’s the winner right there.

Enormous Implications: Students Identifying As LGBT Skyrocket At Brown University To Nearly 40%
By Alex Newwman: The number of Brown University students identifying as homosexual, bisexual, or transgender has more than doubled since 2010, according to a new poll commissioned by a student-run paper. A decade ago, just 14 percent of students there claimed in polls to be LGBT. Today, almost 40 percent identify with one of the letters, according to the Brown Daily Herald’s Spring 2023 poll released last month.
Breaking down the numbers, students who identify as homosexual have increased by over 25 percent, with “bisexual” surging over 230 percent. But the number of students identifying with “other sexual orientations” such as “Queer,” “Pansexual” and “Asexual” skyrocketed almost 800 percent since the surveys began over a decade ago. Over 5 percent said they were “nonbinary” or “genderqueer.”

By Micaiah Bilger: The Biden administration stubbornly refuses to cancel a new policy that forces taxpayers to fund abortion travel for the U.S. Military, even though the unpopular measure has led to a block on Pentagon promotions.
As a result, the U.S Marine Corps does not have a confirmed leader for the first time in more than 150 years, according to CNN. About 250 other military promotions also have been held up in the U.S. Senate.
The Biden administration blames U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville, a pro-life Republican from Alabama, for the obstruction. Months ago, when U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin introduced the policy, Tuberville warned that he would block Pentagon nominees if the administration tried to enforce the “illegal” policy. The Biden administration did so anyway in February, and the Alabama Republican has been blocking nominees since then.
