Mayer Amschel Rothschild–a descendant of Jewish merchants from the Frankfurt ghetto–was born in 1744 and became an orphan at age twelve, with four siblings to take care of and almost no money to help. He had no choice but to go to work very young. He eventually became the apprentice to banker Jacob Wolf Oppenheimer in Hanover and returned to Frankfurt in 1763 to become the personal financial dealer to Crown Prince Wilhelm I. He started to amass his fortune as the French Revolution started in 1789, turned into war in Europe, and allowed him to quickly become the richest Jewish man in Europe. Eventually, he would delegate some of his banking business to each of his five sons across Europe (Germany, England and France.)
The family business quickly grew to become the greatest banking institution in Europe. This undoubtedly gave the Rothschild family some power, especially at a time in history when the Haskalah, or “Jewish enlightenment,” was starting to become a reality for Jews. It also gave them the financial power to lend money to the various nations that had opposed France and been affected by the Napoleonic Wars.
The Rothschild name became synonymous with wealth and philanthropy, but it also became the symbol of modern Jewish capitalism. So much so that Sholem Aleichem’s original Yiddish text for Tevye’s song “If I Were a Rich Man” read “Ven Ikh bin Rothschild” (If I were Rothschild).

Companies Tone Down June Pride Month Plans To Escape Backlash

A year removed from the Bud Light fiasco that sparked a thousand boycotts, even USA Today is admitting -- the grassroots strategy worked. LGBT Pride, at least as a wholesale business concept, is dead. For companies brave (or foolish) enough to test Americans' outrage in 2024, one thing is for certain: there's no pot of gold at the end of this June's rainbow.
To most CEOs' surprise, the wave of national fury over trans activism hasn't just remained steady over the past 14 months -- it's exploded in strength and scope. The firepower that consumers have unleashed against brands like Target, Anheuser-Busch, Nike, Disney, Planet Fitness, and others have put companies on defense at a time of year when they're used to passing the Left's annual test of LGBT loyalty.
Now, thanks to painful pushback that's crashed stocks and sales, the conversations in those corporate board rooms have dramatically changed. Instead of, "How can we maximize our visibility on Pride?" the question has become, "What can we do to show our support without burning consumer bridges?"

By Kenneth Levin: It’s called “projection”: ascribing to others behavior or beliefs that are one’s own. Of the two major weapons in Hamas’s arsenal, projectiles and projection, the latter has been markedly the most successful.
Hamas projectiles – rockets, missiles, mortars – have over the years, including over the five Hamas-initiated wars between 2008 and 2023, forced tens of thousands of Israelis into bomb shelters. And the group’s targeting of civilians is a war crime. But the actual toll of the projectile assaults by the terror group, in terms of lives lost and property damaged, has (unlike Hamas’s gun, knife and grenade invasion of October 7, 2023) been much less than that to which the organization aspired.
In contrast, projecting onto Israel, ascribing to the Jewish state, Hamas’s own genocidal agenda – as explicitly declared in its charter and demonstrated in its 10/7 massacre – has been a worldwide success. It is parroted by government leaders on every continent, including members of Congress; by faculty and students on prestige and not so prestige campuses wherever such institutions exist; and by know-nothing but always in-fashion and morally compromised major media. The claim of Israelis committing genocide has become their “truth.” They regurgitate it even as they ignore Hamas promises to continue pursuing what it characterizes as its religiously mandated goal of ridding the world of all Jews. They dance to the Hamas tune of a Gaza genocide even as Israel’s efforts to eradicate a truly genocidal organization have, in fact, yielded a proportionally far lower civilian toll than any other war against forces imbedding themselves in urban populations and using those populations as cover.
