By Geoffrey Grider: Israel carried out dozens of strikes on Thursday across southern Lebanon, in what Lebanese security sources said were some of the most intense bombings since Hezbollah began daily cross-border attacks on northern communities after the start of the Gaza war on October 7.
For all the years that Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah has vowed to “destroy Israel!!”, for all his tough talk, Israel has finally granted his wish and brought the fight to Lebanon, and guess what? So far there has been almost no reaction or response from Hezbollah. Maybe it’s because they are quietly preparing a massive retaliation that will stun the world, or more likely, they are terrified of the IDF after watching thousands of their soldiers being blown up in next-level pager and walkie talkie attacks.
Here’s an interesting tidbit that no one seems to be talking about. The war cabinet in Israel has approved a decision that authorizes Prime Minister Netanyahu and Defense Minister Gallant to decide between themselves whether to take action against Hezbollah, which would ultimately lead to an all-out war in Lebanon. The two alone are now authorized “to take defensive and offensive actions against Hezbollah in order to fulfill Israel’s war goals.” How did that happen? Sole power to invade Lebanon to destroy Israel placed in the hands of only two people? That’s stunning, to say the least. It will be quite interesting to see where things go from here.

You know, sometimes you look at the events happening around you and all you can do is sit back and say, “Oh, my goodness.” I mean, seriously! If you’ve read my thrillers, you know what a great fan I am of the Mossad and how highly I think of their skillset. But the events of Tuesday and Wednesday? Again, oh my goodness!
It was 3:30 PM, Tuesday afternoon. All the Hezbollah leadership and mid-level guys were out doing their Hezbollahy things – buying some fruit, visiting family, torturing prisoners. Suddenly, their pagers went off. Yes, you read that right. Their pagers, just like what happens to millions of people every day all around the world, or at least it did back in the 90s. The message was an error code that kept the device beeping and vibrating for ten seconds. Some lifted their pagers up so they could read the code before clearing it. Others just figured there was a problem and cleared the code while the device remained on their belts. As soon as they pressed the clear button, the devices exploded.
It was ugly. Many had their waists severely burned. Others had others parts of their nether regions seriously and permanently compromised. The ones who got the worst of it, though, were those who were trying to make out the numbers on the tiny LED screen. Many of them were blinded. Others lost their lives. It was the most direct, well-planned, and perfectly executed cyberstrike of the modern era. More than 4000 Hezbollah terrorists were wounded initially, and at least 11 were killed. Four hundred of those wounded are in critical condition, more than 500 lost their eyesight, and 18 high-ranking terrorist commanders were injured.

At the conference, world leaders will sign Pact for the Future, an accord in which member states will pledge their allegiance to the UN as a central, unifying power.
"We, the Heads of State and Government, representing the peoples of the world, have gathered at United Nations Headquarters to protect the needs and interests of present and future generations through the actions in this Pact for the Future," the document begins.
"We recognize that the multilateral system and its institutions, with the United Nations and its Charter at the centre, must be strengthened to keep pace with a changing world."
Member states then repeatedly "reaffirm" their "unwavering commitment" to the UN, its charter, its purposes, its principles, and Agenda 2030. They vow to comply with the UN's International Court of Justice and promise to "reform the international financial architecture."

Israel is anticipating a retaliatory attack from Iran, and/or its proxy, Hezbollah in Lebanon, allegedly in response to last month’s elimination of Hamas senior leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran and Hezbollah commander Fuad Shukr in Beirut. For Israel and Israelis, this is an unacceptable situation. The 24/7 alert has taken a particular toll on the Air Force reservist pilots and ground crews, who must be away from their families and jobs. The overall Israeli economy, including the agricultural sector, has also suffered enormously. And, most critically, the war and the anxiety over the hostages continue to seriously impact the national morale and the psychological well-being of many in Israel.
As exhibited in previous situations, Israel would have launched a preventive strike against Iran and Hezbollah; however, in consideration of the Biden administration’s demand that it avoid doing so for fear that an Israeli strike might trigger a wider regional war, the Jewish state has refrained. The primary reason for Washington’s efforts to restrain Israel from acting is, first and foremost, the upcoming U.S. elections. The administration doesn’t want American personnel in the Middle East coming back in body bags. The United States currently has 2,500 U.S. soldiers in Iraq and 900 stationed in the northeast area of Syria. Iraqi Shi’ite militias, under Iranian guidance, have already deployed rockets in an attack on the Al-Asad airbase in Iraq’s Al-Anbar province, wounding several U.S. troops. Similarly, Shi’ite militias in Syria mounted drone attacks on American bases in the country.
Secondarily, America has been constraining Israel from a preventive strike against Iran for purely political purposes. Vide President Kamala Harris, as she assesses her run for the U.S. presidency, understands that she must appease the pro-Hamas “progressive” wing of the Democrat Party, especially in Michigan, where the significant Arab-American community might abstain from giving the Democrat Party their support and vote.
