By Jonathan Brentner: It’s becoming increasingly popular in churches today to assert that God has replaced Israel with the church. Some believe that the Lord rejected Israel, while others see the church as somehow the spiritual fulfillment of the kingdom promises made to Israel.
This teaching is often referred to as “replacement theology.” I have many problems with such teaching, starting with the words of Paul in Romans 11:1-2, “Hath God cast away his people? God forbid… God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew.” I am not sure how some get around Paul’s clear assertion in this text that God has not replaced or rejected Israel.
Besides the fact that this teaching contradicts Paul’s words in Romans 11, there is a more fundamental reason for discarding replacement theology: such teaching undermines the credibility of God.

Church Of England Lobby Group Pushes Bible Is Pro-Transgender Narrative

This group advocates for what it describes as a "radical transformation of the patriarchal, heteronormative, white, western privileged culture of the Church of England." In practice, this means lobbying for the unconditional acceptance of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, and queer identities within the Church.
Through their efforts, Changing Attitude England has lobbied bishops extensively during the Church's "Living in Love and Faith" consultations, aiming to push for sweeping changes in the Church's approach to sexuality and gender. The group's resources, hosted on the website LGBT Faith UK, assert that the Bible "affirms trans, intersex and queer people" by interpreting passages in ways that align with contemporary identity politics.
The campaign's guidance, authored by Ann Reddecliffe, makes bold claims, such as labeling eunuchs as "ancestors of trans people" and suggesting that Deborah's leadership role is an example of "queer" gender performance. They also believe their is evidence to suggest the woman at the well with Jesus was 'intersex'. These interpretations distort scripture to support an agenda, rather than seeking to understand the text's intended meaning.

Oregon Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum, a Democrat, said the toolkit, which is available as an online website, includes brochures, posters, and public service announcements in English, and Spanish. “I asked my Civil Rights Unit here at the Oregon DOJ to do whatever we could to provide the people, businesses, and local governments of our state with easy-to-read materials to help them know their rights and educate others,” she announced in a press release. The toolkit provides resources to illegal immigrants such as a crisis hotline, and avenues to report a suspected Oregon Sanctuary Law violation (Washington Examiner).
In 1987, Oregon lawmakers passed then-Rep. Rocky Barilla’s HB 2314 in response to several raids by INS – the U.S. Immigration & Naturalization Service, which transformed into USCIS, DHS and ICE in 2003. The law is largely considered the first “sanctuary state” policy in the country (Fox News).
