By Robert Gottselig: Let’s be honest, the United Nations is nothing more than the United nothing. Last week at the UN, a shameful declaration for a two-state solution was endorsed.
Of course, the United States voted no. “Make no mistake,” the US told the General Assembly, “this resolution is a gift to Hamas.” Israel’s UN ambassador Danny Dannon rightfully stated that “the only beneficiary is Hamas.”
“When terrorists are the ones cheering, you are not advancing peace; you are advancing terror,” Dannon underscored.
Let me get this straight… Out of the 193 members in the United Nations General Assembly, 142 countries—including Canada—voted in favor of this declaration.
Only now have they condemned Hamas. What in the world took this assembly so long to recognize the demonic, horrific atrocities of October 7th, 2023? That alone is despicable. Now, they want to reward Hamas and the Palestinians with a two-state solution.
Here’s a news flash: the Palestinians are not interested in a two-state solution. Their mantra, “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free,” means no Israel. If you want to talk about a genocide, there you have it. They dream of Israel’s eradication, they chant it daily, and they teach it to their children.

That was murder, genocide, you can call it whatever you want … but little babies were chopped in half, arms were cut off people, heads were cut off people—that’s genocide.”
The president characterized the Hamas-led invasion and massacre in Israel’s south as “genocide at the highest level,” fundamentally challenging the narrative that has dominated international discourse since the war began.
Trump’s remarks represent a consistent effort to reframe the conversation around the Gaza conflict. Earlier in the week, during a visit to London, he similarly interrupted a reporter’s criticism of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, insisting that any evaluation of Israel’s policies must account for the war that Hamas initiated with its savage attack on Israeli communities.

That’s the sort of quibble best reserved for ‘offenses’ where sensitivity matters, not for actually empowering terrorists to kill people.
So whether or not the leftist governments of the UK, under PM Keir Starmer, Canada under Carney and Australia under Albanese, intended it that way or it was a happy accident that the UN’s latest session to empower terrorists had the perfect timing, what does matter is that they gave the terrorists what they wanted.
The idea of recognizing a ‘Palestinian’ state is an inherent absurdity. There are no such thing as ‘Palestinians’, just local Arab Muslims who decided to pick another name out of history, and there’s no state, just two enclaves run by two separate but loosely allied Islamic terror groups, the PLO and Hamas, which have never been able to manage their own affairs, which is why the UN, funded by us, actually provides everything for them.
