By Jesse King: October 13, 2025, was a day of great celebration. Twenty Israelis who had spent two years as hostages under Hamas’s barbaric grip returned to Israel and their loved ones. The haggard men shed tears of joy with their families, and a nation rejoiced.
The return of the 20 living hostages and the bodies of four others who died in captivity represented the first completed step in U.S. President Donald Trump’s peace plan, designed to bring an end to the Gaza war. But even as more bodies are returned to Israel, much work remains, a great deal of which breeds skepticism in many analysts. Trump’s reputation as a leader who completes what he sets out to do fuels optimism that the bodies of the remaining hostages will be returned soon. Still, Hamas’s failure to meet Trump’s initial 72-hour deadline suggests that they either plan to make things difficult during negotiations, don’t have the bodies, or both.

Requesting the return of these bodies pales in comparison to what Israel was ordered to give in return: 1,968 Palestinian prisoners arrested since Hamas’s October 7, 2023, massacre, 250 of whom were serving life sentences for crimes, many of which included murder. It’s shameful that Israel must give up nearly 100 criminals for every innocent civilian in such a deal. Trump’s plan also stipulated that Israel would release the bodies of 15 deceased Gazans for each dead hostage Hamas returned—another imbalanced ratio that favors the Jewish state’s opponents.
Much of the watching world ignores or downplays this critical aspect of this deal and most exchanges involving Israel. How does a man who nods at "globalize the intifada" and refuses to say Hamas should disarm--all while complaining that the real victim of 9/11 was a distant relative who was allegedly given an ugly stare by a fellow subway rider--become the most likely next mayor of the city in which 9/11 occurred?
The answer is simple and obvious: Zohran Mamdani represents a solid movement within Generation Z. In the latest Suffolk poll, which has Mamdani leading former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo 44% to 34%, Mamdani trails among voters aged 45+; he runs ahead 23 points among those aged 35-44. But among voters aged 18-34, Mamdani runs ahead by an astonishing 61 points.
That isn't a coincidence. It's a reality. It's not that Mamdani has hidden his leechlike career, or his long record of insane radicalism. He hasn't. He certainly allows his freak flag to fly, although he occasionally tucks it away during mayoral debates. That which older voters see as a bug, younger voters see as a feature. And that says something disastrous about America's up-and-coming younger voters.

Really?!! The Arab Palestinians are no more an homogeneous people indigenous to the region than the equator is a country. Their hostility towards the Jews long predates the reconstitution of Israel in 1948. Claiming land theft as a reason for attacking Israel is a pretext for the real goal which is the annihilation of the world’s only Jewish-nation-state and the death of its entire Jewish population so that yet another Islamic country can be created in the Middle East.
The good senator is speaking as if there was a time when the Arab Palestinians held de facto authority over a defined geographic region with defined borders recognized by other nations or states. This has NEVER been the case.
