The U.S. military is moving more weapons and units into the Caribbean that give President Trump powerful new options to escalate his pressure campaign on Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro and potentially bring him down.
The Trump administration has poured an extraordinary amount of firepower into the Caribbean basin: stealth fighters, electronic warfare aircraft, naval strike groups, surveillance drones, and refueling assets staged within striking distance of Venezuela. Officially, this is about narcotics trafficking and sanctions enforcement. In reality, it is about leverage, regime pressure, oil of course, and the unmistakable message that war is coming. Just ask the Secretary of WAR if peace is the goal. It’s not.
The Caribbean has not seen this level of sustained U.S. military concentration in decades. Warships patrol key shipping lanes. Advanced aircraft operate from nearby islands. Surveillance assets blanket the region. And now, with the seizure of a Venezuelan oil tanker and increasingly blunt rhetoric from President Trump, the mask is slipping. This is not a defensive posture, it’s a staging posture. This is not for peace, this is for war. History shows that major conflicts rarely begin with an announcement — they begin with “deterrence,” “security operations,” and “limited enforcement actions.” The language changes only after the first shots are fired. Owens, however, does the heavy lifting, resurrecting what both pundits claim is a cover-up. In her words, Owens said, “This is a story that has been buried for decades. I want to bring it back to life, to make sure Americans know what happened to the USS Liberty.” The reason for the sudden interest: Israel.
The Liberty’s revival reflects Owens and Carlson’s desperation to turn the American people against Israel, because Israel accidentally attacked this U.S. warship. Sadly, Americans who follow Owens did not hear the truth about what happened. Instead, they heard Phil Tourney, an embittered Liberty survivor, blend his experience of the attack with half-truths, outright lies, and antisemitic conspiracy theory.
Owens’ interview with Tourney first aired about a year ago, but she recently doubled down, reposting it on X this past Veterans Day, describing it as “spiritually impactful.” From the perspective of this U.S. Naval veteran, I am horrified at Owens’ willingness to partner with Tourney (who collaborates with Holocaust deniers). Together, they’ve transformed a tragedy into a blood libel against Jewish people and Israel.
The Candace Owens Business Model: Sensationalism Sells
The wisdom of Israel’s King Solomon is timeless: “The first to plead his case seems right, until another comes and examines him” (Proverbs 18:17). If you first heard about the USS Liberty through Owens’ interview, you would come away believing Israel deliberately and relentlessly attacked the Liberty during the Six Day War, and that the White House and upper-level U.S. Naval officials intentionally covered it up. This requires accepting the absurd claim that multiple admirals and naval officers committed high treason against a ship full of U.S. Navy sailors to protect a U.S.-Israel relationship that hadn’t fully blossomed yet.
Tourney even floats the possibility that America hired Israel to sink the Liberty to draw the U.S. into World War III. He alleges that when the attack failed, the U.S. government covered it up. Tourney then calls on President Donald J. Trump not to abandon the Liberty veterans and calls for an investigation that he says hasn’t happened (only a naval board of inquiry). In Tourney’s own words, “All presidents, all congresses, including Donald Trump, have not done anything for us.”
After Tourney recounts his story, Candace seizes the opportunity to promote her own antisemitic and anti-Zionist conspiracy theories, ranging from Leo Frank to JFK, going so far as to suggest our American government is currently “occupied” by the Jews. A Nation Exposed: How 18,000 Terror Suspects Were Let Loose Inside The U.S.
By Dan Hart/Washington Stand: Thousands of known or suspected terrorists from across the globe were allowed to enter the U.S. unvetted under the Biden administration, a top counterterrorism official testified before a House committee hearing Thursday. Experts say the Trump administration should continue to tighten watchlist vetting and detention, as well as new immigrant vetting in order to correct the national security failures.
During a hearing before the House Homeland Security Committee, Director of the United States National Counterterrorism Center Joe Kent testified that up to 18,000 known or suspected terrorists (KSTs) from foreign countries have been identified by his agency so far, all of whom were allowed to enter the U.S. during the previous Biden administration's open border policies.
"The No. 1 threat that we have right now, in my view, is the fact that we don't know who came into our country in the last four years of Biden's open borders," Kent told the committee. He further added that the number of KSTs is likely higher due to the unknown number of individuals who crossed the border completely undetected during the Biden years.

The Gaza plan championed by the Trump administration is on the verge of being hijacked – not by Israel, but by the very states that have spent years arming, financing, and glorifying Hamas. At the Doha Forum, Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey dispensed with diplomatic subtleties and openly demanded changes that would render the entire plan meaningless. Their proposed “revisions” would force an Israeli withdrawal before Hamas disarms, insert an international force that refuses to confront Hamas, and hard-wire Hamas’s continued rule into the future of Gaza.
The astonishing part is not that Qatar and Turkey are attempting this maneuver – it is that Washington is allowing it. The US is ignoring the plainly anti-Western ideological motives of its supposed partners, and in doing so, it is sleepwalking into a strategic catastrophe.
The speeches delivered in Doha could not have been more transparent. Qatar’s prime minister announced that mediators must “force the next phase” of the plan and insisted a ceasefire “cannot be completed unless there is a full withdrawal of the Israeli forces.” Egypt’s foreign minister echoed the line, accusing Israel of breaking the ceasefire and demanding that an International Stabilization Force deploy immediately – not to restrain Hamas, but to restrain Israel. Both stressed that the ISF should deploy on the Israeli side of the “yellow line.”
Meanwhile, Turkey declared that the transition to a Gaza governance system must precede Hamas disarmament. Hamas, never one to miss the joke, reiterated that it will only give up its weapons to a new Palestinian government. In other words, they would give their weapons to themselves, and pretend they aren’t Hamas anymore.

Gov. Walz Vows To Fight Somali Fraud With More Somalis

“We have in Minnesota per capita wise, more refugees than any other state,” he said once again eliciting cheers from the crowd.
And more fraud per capita than any other state.
I wonder if there might be some connection.
“These folks better not ever mistake our kindness for our weakness because we are going to defend our neighbors. These guys bring out the worst in me. I hate it when I get to that point where it’s petty and I hate it when that sense of anger comes up on you,” Walz said. “But the antidote to that is positive actions to improve lives that go against what they are trying to do. So instead of demonizing our Somali community, we’re going to do more to welcome more in.”Better not mistake Walz’s kindness towards Somali with weakness towards America.
