• House Republicans successfully passed a premium-slashing health care package on Wednesday, overcoming a late breaking revolt from House GOP moderates.
• Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer declined Tuesday to rule out triggering another government shutdown as Democrats press Republicans to extend the enhanced Affordable Care Act subsidies.
• President Trump signed the National Defense Authorization Act yesterday authoring some 901 billion dollars in military and national security programs for fiscal year 2026.
• The fifth person arrested in a foiled plot for a New Year’s Eve bombing is a transgender Marine veteran and former cop who wanted to recreate WACO against ICE agents.
• Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced Thursday that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is taking steps to push back against what he described as “sex rejecting” transgender procedures for minors.
• The House of Representatives passed legislation late Wednesday evening that would criminalize gender transition procedures for minors, making a significant victory for conservatives who argue that the federal government must step in to protect children from irreversible medical procedures.
• San Diego Unified School District is justifying lessons about dozens of novel sexual orientations as age appropriate.
• The Supreme Court has declined to hear the case of a California Christian baker who was prosecuted for refusing on religious grounds to create a custom wedding cake celebrating a same-sex marriage.

In our government, it is nearly impossible to believe any news coming out of any agency by either party, with each side accusing the other of lies and coverups.
Speaking of coverups, the Epstein Files will not have a full release today as Democrats and Republicans continue waging war to keep the files hidden. Looks like the Epstein Transparency Act is not so transparent after all, with Pam Bondi being threatened with jail time for covering them up. Turning Point USA has officially launched civil war against itself as the House of Kirk threatens to topple over. What do all these things have in common? Behind all of it is one common thread, the spirit of the man of sin who is about to be revealed, stirring up trouble and turning people against each other. The December 14 New York Times piece, headlined Home-Schooled Kids Are Not All Right, calls for massive new government controls over homeschool families. It comes just weeks after the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) released a shocking report demanding such regulation worldwide under the guise of “human rights.”

On The Ezra Klein Show earlier this month, Newsom made it unmistakably clear that his record on transgender policy is not a footnote--it is a point of pride. "I want to see trans kids," he said. "I have a trans godson. There's no governor that signed more pro-trans legislation than I have, and no one's been a stronger advocate for the LGBTQ community."
That statement should be treated not as a moment of personal reflection, but as a warning shot. Newsom is widely viewed as the overwhelming favorite for the Democratic nomination in 2028, and this was not an accidental remark. It was a preview. If California has been a laboratory for progressive social policy, Newsom is now signaling that he intends to export the model nationwide.

Building up to a furious pitch, Tucker ranted against what he called “attacking millions of Americans because they’re Muslims, it’s disgusting. And I’m a Christian. I know there’s effort to claim I’m a secret Jihadi. I’m not. You should not attack on those grounds. And you’re seeing that from Republicans. What the hell are you doing?”
