No church is neutral on the matter of Israel’s place in Bible prophecy. Many pastors say that such matters pertaining to the end times are of lesser significance than other more weighty matters of the faith. In my experience, however, they are the most aggressive in promoting the church as the new Israel and the least tolerant of those who disagree with them on this topic.
Even so, some might ask, “What’s the big deal?” It’s because the place a church assigns to the role of Israel in Bible prophecy is much more than just a matter of theology buried somewhere in a church’s doctrinal statement; it always impacts key areas of its ministry.
It Results In Elders Who Rule Rather Than Shepherd The Flock
A few months ago, I wrote, “5 Troubling Trends in Today’s Church,” in which I detailed the abuses that flow from the kingdom mentality within churches who believe they represent the fulfillment of God’s promises to Israel.
At the top of my list was elders who rule rather than serve the members of the body of Christ. I have witnessed firsthand the harm this causes and have heard many stories from several others who have comparable stories.

It wasn't a throwaway comment. It was a carefully framed warning.
Carlson pointed to Trump's recent sharing of AI-generated images depicting himself alongside Jesus--imagery he argued crossed into mockery of the Christian faith. From there, he turned to Scripture, invoking the chilling description of the coming "man of lawlessness," a figure who will "oppose and exalt himself over everything that is worshiped." Then came the line that electrified his audience: "He will pose as God... He will mock other gods, and put himself in their place."
And finally, the question that has since echoed across social media posts and podcasts: "Could this be the antichrist?"
For many believers, that question struck a nerve--not because they are convinced, but because Scripture itself warns of a deception so powerful that even the faithful must remain watchful. Carlson is tapping into something real: the Bible does describe a figure marked by arrogance, self-exaltation, and a chilling disregard for God.
But here is where the conversation must shift from emotion to precision.

What was different: She lost substantial ground in two large, traditionally Dem municipalities with substantial Jewish populations,” NBC News analyst Steve Kornacki noted.
“Livingston is one of the most Jewish towns in New Jersey. It just swung 70+ points toward Republicans compared to 2024 and last year’s gubernatorial race. Democrats should pay attention to this or it may very well come back to bite them in ‘26 and ‘28,” Evan Rosenfeld warned.
