By Tony Perkins: When God delivered the children of Israel from bondage in Egypt and defeated Pharaoh’s army, Moses responded with a song, recorded in Exodus 15. He declares, “The Lord is a man of war, the Lord is His name.”
That description is revealing. Scripture repeatedly presents God as one who defends His people, upholds justice, and ultimately triumphs over evil. He is not a distant observer of human conflict, but a righteous judge who acts in history.
And this imagery is not confined to the Old Testament. In Revelation 19, Jesus Himself is depicted as a warrior riding a white horse, bringing judgment against the nations, with a sword proceeding from His mouth. The biblical witness is consistent: God is both Redeemer and Righteous Judge.
War, therefore, is a tragic but real feature of a fallen world. The Bible does not ignore it — it regulates it. From these biblical principles, Augustine of Hippo articulated what would become known as Just War Theory, later refined by Thomas Aquinas. This framework has guided much of Western moral reasoning about war for centuries, recognizing that while war is never ideal, it may at times be necessary to restrain evil and protect the innocent.

By PNW Staff: A man climbs on top of a rocket, straps himself into a machine packed with explosive force, rises beyond the atmosphere, looks down on the blue curve of Earth, and says something many in our "enlightened" age would rather laugh away than seriously consider: "There aren't any atheists on top of rockets." For Victor Glover, that was not a throwaway line. It was a confession of reality. And in a culture that often treats faith as childish and science as its replacement, his words landed with unusual force.
They matter even more now because Glover is not speaking from the sidelines. He is the pilot of NASA's Artemis II mission, the first crewed Artemis flight and the first mission to send astronauts around the moon in more than 50 years. NASA says the approximately 10-day mission launched on April 1 and has now departed Earth orbit on its way around the moon, with Glover serving as pilot aboard Orion. He is also making history as part of the first crewed lunar mission of the Artemis era.
That alone would make him notable. But what makes his story powerful for Christians is not simply that he is brilliant enough to fly a spacecraft or courageous enough to trust his life to one. It is that he has refused to accept the false choice our culture keeps trying to force on believers: either trust God or trust science.

• Trump fired at least three top Army generals in the last couple of days (with some reports suggesting as many as 12 generals have been purged in recent weeks), a sure sign that he has decided to launch a high-risk ground assault on Iranian territory.
• An F-15E fighter jet was shot down overnight in Iran, just two days after Trump told the nation that Iran has no air defenses left and has been totally defeated on land, sea and air. A search and rescue operation is ongoing for at least one of the two pilots onboard the downed plane. One of the two pilots has reportedly been rescued.
