Attacks On Christians And Catholics Are Rising In Israel As Catholic Nun Is Kicked To The Ground On The Streets Of Jerusalem
To this lost world, there is little to no distinction made between biblically born again Christians and members of cult and fringe groups like the Roman Catholics, Mormons, Jehovah’s Witness and Seventh Day Adventists. To them, it’s all the same, it’s all Christianity. So for the sake of our discussion today, we will label all of it as “professing Christianity”. That said, there is a verifiable rise on Christians in Israel at the hands of radical Orthodox Jews, and it grows worse by the day. In our story today, we see a Roman Catholic nun kicked to the ground by Orthodox Jews, and this is just the tip of the end times iceberg.
The attacker was not some nameless shadow from a vague “troubled region.” Israeli police arrested a 36-year-old Jewish suspect, and AP reported that the assailant seen in the video was wearing tzitzit, the fringes worn by observant Jewish men. AP also noted that Christian leaders and organizations have been warning of a growing trend of violence and harassment against Christian clergy and pilgrims, often by ultra-Orthodox Jewish youth. Their it is. Not rumor, not propaganda, not replacement theology hysteria. A documented pattern. The Rossing Center’s reporting on attacks against Christians in Israel and East Jerusalem says that in known 2024 cases, the perpetrators were Jewish individuals, “primarily young men from ultra-Orthodox and national-religious circles,” driven by a mix of nationalist fervor and religious extremism, especially among ultra-Orthodox nationalist groups. The 2024 report documented 111 incidents, including physical attacks, attacks on church properties, harassment, and defacement, while coverage of the report noted that most victims were clergy or people wearing visible Christian symbols. The Rossing Center’s 2025 report says the harassment and violence are continuing to escalate across Israel and East Jerusalem. By Southwest Radio Ministries: It’s safe to say that, among the nations of the world, Israel perhaps evokes stronger thoughts and emotions in people than any other. Israel and polarization seem to fit hand in glove, as people either strongly like or love Israel or dislike or even hate the Jewish nation. It seems most people tend to feel very strongly about Israel, one way or another.
In the church today, the nation of Israel is also a point of contention, not geopolitically, per se, but biblically. In short, as it pertains to God’s relationship with Israel in the future, there are only two basic viewpoints: God is either finished with Israel or God has a future for Israel.
God’s Future for Israel—Romans 11:25–36
We see in Romans 11:25–36 God’s glorious plan for the future salvation of Israel. Verses 25–27 say, “For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.”
Notice in verse 25 that Paul doesn’t want the brethren to be ignorant of this mystery. The word “mystery” in the New Testament refers to truth not previously revealed. Specifically, the mystery is that Israel’s hardening is partial, and it will only last for a divinely specified time until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. This is the completion of what we know as the Church Age. God knows the beginning from the end.

The sign was erected at 83rd Street and Harlem Avenue, welcoming visitors to an area stretching from 79th Street to 113th Street that ABPA calls one of the largest Palestinian-American communities in the United States. A second sign followed at Westfield Plaza on 87th Street. ABPA president Rush Darwish declared at that unveiling: "This unveiling is more than a sign -- it is a declaration of who we are."
The designation came after Illinois lawmakers advanced House Joint Resolution 46, which designates Harlem Avenue as "Little Palestine Way," running through Bridgeview, Burbank, Chicago Ridge, Palos Hills, and Worth. The resolution passed the Illinois House in November 2025 by a vote of 76 to 33 and is pending further consideration in the state Senate. Cook County officials went further still, proclaiming April 7 as "Little Palestine Day."
The corridor is, by any measure, a substantial Arab-American commercial presence. According to local business owners, the area is home to more than 200 Arab-owned businesses. One of them, Waseem Al-Wawi, co-owner of Milk Cake Bakery at 9150 S. Harlem Ave., described the district as a place where "you can find anything you want" as a Palestinian. Across the street, M'dakhan restaurant owner Muhammad Baste, a lifelong Bridgeview resident, called the sign "an honor and a responsibility at the same time."
