From Azusa Street To Kathryn Krick: How The Strange Fire Of The Modern Charismatic Movement Replaced The Authority Of Scripture With Signs, Wonders And Seducing Spirits
The modern Charismatic movement began at Azusa Street by elevating supernatural experience above the written word of God. Charles Parham declared tongues to be the evidence of receiving the Holy Ghost; William Seymour carried that teaching into the 1906 Azusa Street Revival; and Aimee Semple McPherson later joined Pentecostal manifestations to celebrity, theatrical production and mass media. After World War II, William Branham popularized the “anointed man” claiming angelic visitations and supernatural discernment, while Oral Roberts transformed the healing tent into a television empire and turned miracles into merchandise through “seed-faith.” What began as emotional manifestations had become a profitable religious industry in which the preacher possessed the anointing, the audience supplied the money and the sick were blamed when the promised miracle failed.
The counterfeit continued mutating. The 1948 Latter Rain movement announced the restoration of modern apostles and prophets; the Charismatic Renewal carried tongues and manifestations into Protestant denominations and Roman Catholicism; Word of Faith preachers such as Kenneth Hagin and Kenneth Copeland turned faith into a force and giving into a formula for prosperity; Toronto and Brownsville normalized shaking, screaming, falling and uncontrolled behavior as evidence of revival; and the New Apostolic Reformation combined restored apostles, private revelation, territorial spirits, deliverance, Seven Mountain dominionism and Christian Nationalism into a global religious network. Through every stage, the same deadly exchange was taking place: “What saith the scripture?” was replaced by “What did you feel?” and the authority of the Bible was surrendered to whoever claimed to possess the newest prophecy, impartation or anointing.
Kathryn Krick is not a strange departure from that history—she is its logical conclusion. Azusa Street now has a smartphone, the healing tent has become a viral video, the prayer cloth has become an online course, and the travelling faith healer has become a social-media “apostle” commanding demons before millions of viewers. From Parham and Seymour to Branham, Roberts, Copeland, Bethel and Krick, the faces and technology have changed, but the spirit remains the same: another Jesus, another spirit and another gospel wrapped in signs, wonders and Christian vocabulary. The modern Charismatic movement promises believers more power while quietly removing the only authority capable of exposing the counterfeit—the preserved, inspired and infallible word of God. The fire that began on Azusa Street is still burning, but Christians had better test the spirits before they call the fire holy. Because it’s not.

A Generation Is Learning About 9/11 Without Learning Why It Happened
By PNW Staff: Twenty-five years ago, Americans watched in horror as hijacked passenger jets struck the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, while courageous passengers fought back aboard United Flight 93. Nearly 3,000 innocent people were murdered in a single morning.
America understood immediately that this was not a random act of violence. It was a carefully planned attack by Al-Qaeda, carried out by Islamist extremists who believed the United States was not merely a political rival but a civilization that deserved to be brought down.
For a brief moment, there was moral clarity. Today, the memorials remain, the names are still read and the phrase “Never Forget” continues to appear every September. But America is forgetting—not only what happened, but why it happened.
Remembering The Attack, Forgetting The Ideology
The debate over whether New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani should attend the 25th-anniversary ceremony at Ground Zero has exposed just how fractured the country’s understanding of 9/11 has become. Some victims’ families and former New York leaders have urged him to stay away, while Mamdani has said he will attend to honor the dead and the first responders.
But the larger issue is not who stands at the ceremony. It is whether America still possesses the courage to identify the ideology that sent 19 hijackers into those airplanes.
The United States declared a “war on terror,” but terror is a tactic, not an enemy. The enemy was a global Islamist movement committed to imposing its religious and political order, destroying Israel and weakening the West. The bipartisan 9/11 Commission Report documented Al-Qaeda’s rise, Osama bin Laden’s declaration of war against the United States and the extremist worldview that drove the plot.

It’s one of the more distinguishing signs of our time because it aligns with so many prophecies that predict hatred for Israel and the Jews during the last days.”

Almost all members of the Democrat Party in Washington have turned on Israel. They have approved financial aid to Israel since 1950 and much more after 1973. In recent years, it has been $3 billion a year—which they now wish to cancel. According to Pew Research, eight-out-of-ten Democrats view Israel unfavorably. Consider that as recently as 2015, most all Democrats were pro-Israel.
When the October 7 slaughter took place, Leftists decided that was the time to switch sides and cheer for the barbarians—not Israel!

Britain’s most senior police officer warned that antisemitism has reached unprecedented levels, saying Jewish communities face their greatest threat to date as authorities confront a series of attacks and rising tensions. It is not uncommon today to hear people state that the Jew-hatred of the 21st Century is comparable to the hatred that led to near genocide of the Jews in the 1930s.
Mark Rowley, head of the Metropolitan Police, said British Jews are being targeted by a wide range of extremist actors, which he linked, in part, to the influence of social media. He states, “The ghastly fact is that Jews are on everybody’s list, all of those hateful groups, whether you’re extreme right, whether you’re extreme left, whether you’re Islamist terrorist, whether you’re right-wing terrorist,” he told The London Times.

“A Dark Day For British Jews”: UK And 11 Other Countries Announce Sanctions On (West Bank) Judea And Samaria; Israel Closes Consulate

Britain, he announced, will ban all trade with Jewish communities there, sanction companies and individuals connected to them, and refuse arms export licenses tied to what he called Israel’s “unlawful occupation.” France and Canada immediately followed with their own import bans. Nine other countries, including Denmark, Norway, Poland, Spain, and Sweden, issued a separate statement reaffirming support for a two-state solution, without committing to sanctions of their own.
Miliband did not soften his language. He accused Israel’s government of allowing “ethnic cleansing” of Arabs in the region, charging that officials “have made statements and taken actions to support the forced displacement of Palestinians.” He built this claim on quotes from former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, who called the Jewish settlement of the Biblical homeland “a violent and criminal effort to ethnically cleanse territories in the West Bank [SIC],” and from former IDF general and health minister Ephraim Sneh, who used the same term.
Miliband said settler attacks against Palestinians now average six per day, the highest rate on record. The issue of settler violence is hotly contested and far from settled. In the past, settler violence has been grossly misreported.
Miliband cited a population jump in Judea and Samaria from roughly 270,000 residents at the time of the Oslo Accords in 1993 to some 770,000 today, though that figure appears to combine multiple regions beyond Judea and Samaria proper.
