President Donald Trump has declared that artificial intelligence requires no meaningful guardrails because America possesses a “STRONG AND SMART (High IQ!) PRESIDENT.” Read that again. The proposed safeguard against autonomous machines capable of deception, cyberwarfare, mass surveillance, financial disruption and weapons development is supposedly the intellect of one man sitting in the Oval Office, Donald John Trump. The very same man that, last week, led his followers in a pledge of allegiance to himself. That is absolutely insane. If you thought Joe Biden was losing his mind, this is a whole new level. Say hello to ‘Dementia Don!’
Donald Trump cannot personally inspect the hidden reasoning of an artificial-intelligence model. He cannot monitor millions of autonomous agents operating simultaneously across worldwide computer networks. He cannot detect every emerging capability, prevent every engineered deception, secure every data center or stop every rogue system before it causes irreversible damage. Neither can Sam Altman, Elon Musk, Dario Amodei or any other member of the billionaire technological priesthood now constructing this digital Tower of Babel. Artificial intelligence is not a casino, a golf course or a real-estate negotiation. It is an emerging global infrastructure capable of influencing governments, manipulating populations, impersonating human beings, manufacturing false realities and placing enormous power into the hands of corporations and intelligence agencies operating far beyond public scrutiny. Wander was there for both days of the holiday, and described what he saw in an interview with Rabbi Aharon Sokol on the podcast Parsha Inspired, an account independently corroborated by police statements and other eyewitnesses.

Any year Rosh Hashanah falls on Shabbat is, in Wander’s words, “going to be a very eventful year.” This year, the first day of the holiday landed on Shabbat, and Wander had “the pleasure again of blowing shofar on Shabbat Rosh Hashanah in the Old City of Jerusalem.” He was quick to explain why that is unusual. “For already many, many years, it has been the practice to refrain from blowing shofar on the first day of Rosh Hashanah when it falls on Shabbat,” he said. “But there are exceptions to that rule.” He pointed to the Rif, who blew shofar in his community in Morocco, and to more recent precedent in Jerusalem: “We have more modern examples in Jerusalem, Akiva Yosef Schlesinger and others, who blew shofar in Jerusalem when there was a beit din present.”
Wander was careful to explain the underlying halacha. “It’s a mitzvah in the Torah to blow shofar on Rosh Hashanah,” he said. “The Sages came and excluded this mitzvah temporarily, because no rabbi in the world can take away a mitzvah from the Torah or add one to it.” The reason for the exclusion, he explained, was concern over carrying: “The Sages were concerned we’re not allowed to carry in public on Shabbat, and if we blew shofar, someone might carry it out into the public afterward and break Shabbat. So it’s understood that if there’s a beit din present, people will be careful not to break Shabbat laws and will do it properly.”

My teacher plainly explained, “The Israelites are God’s Chosen People.” She also called them “the children of Israel.” By my understanding, this meant God must deeply love children, specifically Israelite children. So, in my heart, I yearned to be a little Israelite girl. I had no idea that “Israelite,” “Hebrew,” and “Jewish” all referred to the same race; nor did I know that I was a Gentile.
Three years later, my elder sister Debbie came home from church one day and announced that she was going to heaven because she was “saved,” but I was going to hell. I was terrified.
“You have to be saved to be God’s child,” Debbie said.

One is "Naza," a documentary that premiered at the Venice Film Festival this month to a standing ovation lasting nearly 25 minutes, accusing the Israel Defense Forces of running a policy of mass civilian killing in Gaza. The other is the fifth season of "Fauda," the Israeli television drama now streaming globally on Netflix, which devotes two full episodes to recreating the Hamas-led attack itself, built in part on real footage from that day, much of it filmed by the terrorists.
The two productions arrived within days of each other, and the contrasts are shocking. "Naza" rests on anonymous, unverifiable testimony that the Israeli military says is riddled with internal contradictions and claims beyond what its own subjects could have known. "Fauda," despite being a work of fiction, hews so closely to the documented record of October 7 that one reviewer argued the season actually understates what happened that day.
“Naza”: The Film
"Naza" is an 80-minute documentary co-directed by Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor, built on interviews conducted over three years with 24 Israeli soldiers and intelligence officers who say they were involved in Israel's military campaign in Gaza. The interview subjects, whose identities are concealed, were filmed at night on rooftops in Tel Aviv, with their faces and voices digitally altered.
The film takes its title from a Hebrew military acronym meaning "collateral damage." Its central claim is that the IDF used an artificial intelligence system called "Lavender," which mines Gaza's mass-surveilled telecommunications network for phone calls, movements and interactions, to identify targets for strikes in which civilian deaths were anticipated and accepted in advance rather than treated as unintended consequences. One interviewee claims approval was given for a strike on a single Hamas operative despite the possibility that as many as 500 civilians could be killed. Others describe the process in stark terms.
