Musk says Neuralink will begin by restoring movement, communication and sight to the disabled, and those are undeniably remarkable medical goals. But he also openly describes a future of “AI-human symbiosis,” superhuman abilities and communication occurring hundreds or thousands of times faster than ordinary speech. The ultimate objective is not merely to heal natural man but to upgrade him—to transform humanity into something capable of surviving alongside digital superintelligence. An ‘AI Apocalypse’ Is Not Biblical… But That Doesn’t Mean Serious Danger Does Loom

Branding the technology as “apocalyptic,” they paint a vivid picture akin to Hollywood-crafted nightmares: machines overcoming mankind, leading to the eradication of the human race.
Earlier this month, a 27-year-old Anthropic and OpenAI researcher abruptly announced his resignation, insisting that these AI companies are “gambling with our lives.”
“The people building AI earnestly believe that it could kill us all by the end of the decade,” he wrote in his public resignation. “This is not a marketing stunt. If anything, many executives and senior researchers will couch their phrasing in the press to sound sensible – but I hear the same people express fear privately. No other human activity poses this level of danger.”
Evan Hubinger, who also works for Anthropic, passionately agreed: “Jacob is correct here — we really do earnestly believe AI could kill all humans! I personally think it is >10% within the next decade.”
John Johnson, CEO of the AI infrastructure company Patmos, disturbingly referred to Artificial intelligence as “a god in a box,” telling Fox & Friends that Americans “have a right to be worried.”
The increase in AI developers calling for the implementation of guardrails on the technology was met with bewilderment by President Donald Trump this week.

SB 1418 (Cervantes) – Makes it a crime to take election materials or voting technology from the custody of election officials and expands the types of materials required for preservation if an election contest or criminal proceeding is ongoing.
