Today, October 27, the people of Israel are voting in an election that could bring Benjamin Netanyahu’s long political reign to an end, while just seven days from now, Americans will head to the polls in the midterm elections that will determine the balance of power in Congress for the final two years of Donald Trump’s presidency. Meanwhile, Iranian forces are attacking commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz at record levels, with at least 28 attacks reported during October alone. Eight months after the United States and Israel launched their war against Iran, the Islamic Republic is still capable of threatening international energy supplies, disrupting maritime commerce, and forcing Washington to contend with the economic consequences. Citing news headlines about the creators of the leading artificial intelligence platforms warning that AI could pose an existential threat to humanity, the president of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and Samaritan’s Purse, told the Fox News Channel host, “My hope is in Jesus Christ.”
“My hope is not in the Republican Party or the Democrats or some other future political system.,” Franklin said during the nearly 90-minute episode of “Hangout with Sean Hannity.” “It’s not in the UN. It’s not in the Communist Party of China. It’s in Jesus Christ and Him alone.”

“And here’s another thing,” Franklin continued, “Jesus is coming back. He is going to come back, and He’s going to establish His throne here. And there’s going to be a new Jerusalem, and He’s coming down, and He’s going to reign, and that’s going to take place. When Hannity asked Franklin what made him think that Christ’s return is imminent, the evangelist said that today’s world seems to mirror the New Testament’s description of how Jesus’ return will be preceded by a season of war among nations, false prophets, lawlessness and hatred that divides families and communities alike.
