‘Kingdom Now’: A Popular Phrase Built On Crumbling Early Kingdoms And A Severe Misunderstanding Of Scripture

Have you heard this recently? It’s a popular phrase for many Christians who believe we are living in the Kingdom of God now. But are we really living in the Kingdom of God today?
Setting Up the Kingdom
When God created the universe, His purposeful order produced a well-constructed world. He made it functional and beautiful. His creation included light, oceans, dry land, vegetation, birds, fish, animals—everything needed to foster the cycle of life in the world. All that was missing was people—human subjects to populate, care for, and enjoy the earth. A kingdom is not a kingdom without subjects. Likewise, God’s Kingdom was not complete without people to serve under, worship, and have fellowship with the King.
So God made man and woman. When He put them together, His Kingdom was perfectly set up: It had human subjects who could govern His creation and commune with Him without boundaries.
At some point they sinned, severing their position as God’s representatives ruling over creation. They were cast out of the perfect Garden of Eden and separated from their Creator. By rejecting God’s authority, they chose to live under Satan’s rule. From that point forward, all of humanity was subjected to living under Satan’s kingdom.
The Path to Restoration
However, God was not caught unaware by humanity’s sin. He set in motion His plan to restore His Kingdom by sending His only Son, Jesus, to defeat Satan. Though Satan would bruise Jesus’ heel, Jesus, the promised Seed of the woman, would crush his head (Genesis 3:15). To fulfill this promise, God chose a unique people, beginning with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to protect the bloodline that would one day bring about Jesus the Messiah.

AI Is Learning To Make Moral Choices - But Whose Morality Will It Follow?

Artificial intelligence is beginning to complicate that relationship.
The emerging generation of AI agents is increasingly being designed not merely to follow commands, but to evaluate them. Developers want AI to recognize harmful requests, weigh competing interests, exercise judgment and sometimes refuse to do what a human asks.
That sounds reassuring—until we ask the question that may define the next stage of the AI revolution:
What happens when the machine decides it knows better than the human giving the order?
That possibility is no longer confined to science fiction.
Anthropic, the company behind Claude, has published a detailed constitution describing the values it wants its AI models to follow. The company says it wants Claude to become a “good, wise, and virtuous agent” capable of exercising judgment in situations involving moral uncertainty.
Artificial intelligence is beginning to complicate that relationship.
