On Today’s Show (December 12, 2013): This Crosstalk is an update concerning news surrounding the continued unveiling of the Affordable Unaffordable Care Act (Obamacare).

Vic began by playing audio cuts from a discussion between Kathleen Sebelius and Republican Representative John Shimkus from Illinois over her repeated claims that mandated health services don't raise the cost for consumers in the form of higher insurance premiums.

In other cuts from the discussion, the abortion coverage factor is covered along with the current enrollment/payment/coverage situation and why payment seems impossible to execute on the Obamacare website.

Vic also made listeners aware of other Obamacare related stories in the news including:

• South Carolina aims to nullify Obamacare.

• Doctors orders: If you like your medicine, you can keep it?

• The Affordable Care Act forces companies with more than 50 workers to purchase health insurance for them or pay large fines. The IRS is saying that includes volunteer fire fighters as they are considered employees.

A List Of The Violent Rhetoric From Democrats

John Nolte, Breitbart — In the days before and since the government shutdown, the media have suspended their usual practice of making politicians pay a price for using rhetoric laced with violent images. The reason for this suspension, obviously, is because it is Democrats using it to gin up hatred against the GOP.

Today, Thursday, there was a shooting near the White House and Capitol Hill. Reports are that the suspect, a woman, was killed and a police officer was injured.

Here is a list of the violent rhetoric from Democrats in just the past week or so. This troubling list includes politicians and members of the media:

1. PRESIDENT OBAMA - GOP 'putting a gun to the American people's head'

Just a few hours before Thursday's Capitol Hill shooting, President Barack Obama accused Republicans of putting a gun to the heads of people to win the shutdown debate:

“You don’t negotiate by putting a gun to the other person’s head, or worse yet by putting a gun to the American people’s head by threatening a shutdown.”

2. REP. GEORGE MILLER - GOP engaging in 'Jihad'

“So when you were on a jihad against Americans’ access to health care, shutting down the parks wasn’t a problem,” Mr. Miller said on the House floor on Wednesday.

“Doctors Are Speeding Up Their Retirements
To Avoid Having To Deal With The Law”

Bryan Preston, The PJ Tatler — The Affordable Care Act, also known as ObamaCare, has transformed the healthcare landscape across America. Though not yet fully implemented, it is already changing the way we buy and access healthcare, mostly in negative ways. Premiums keep going up. Doctors are speeding up their retirements to avoid having to deal with the law. Its push to digitize our medical records may expose Americans to violations of our privacy, and even to misdiagnoses as doctors and nurses are forced to use templates rather than handwritten notes to describe the ailments patients present them.

ObamaCare is also creating chaos in how states deal with which medical personnel are allowed to perform different tasks. The Department of Health and Human Services essentially writes much of the law on the fly, and state legislatures and health departments find themselves regulating between the voluminous law’s many gaps. Chaos presents opportunities, and into those opportunities, some say, consortia of health practitioners are stepping, to take advantage.

Specifically, two groups — nurse practitioners and optometrists — are moving to increase their medical taskings to include many typically done by MDs, without obtaining the years of training that MDs obtain.

Taking the second group first, though most Americans don’t realize it, there is a vast difference in training between optometrists and ophthalmologists. Optometrists typically undergo four years of training to become certified. Some optometry schools do not even require a college degree. Ophthalmologists, on the other hand, must finish college, must finish medical school, and must finish additional internships, residency, and specialization study that can all add up to 12 to 15 years of training.

But optometry groups are moving in California and other states to take on the duties now performed by ophthalmologists and other medical doctors. Kentucky and Oklahoma are among the states that are set to conflate optometrists as if they are equally trained. Optometrist groups are even lobbying, which means donating to politicians, to enable themselves to become primary healthcare providers, monitoring blood pressure and many other conditions far afield of vision.
