SODOMY’S SLIPPERY SLOPE

Christian Information Radio
With Host Vic Eliason

THE CONTINUING TIDAL WAVE OF SODOMY IN AMERICA

On Today’s Broadcast (May 26, 2015): This Crosstalk began with Vic interviewing VCY America's Jim Schneider who many listeners know suffered life-threatening health complications after knee surgery. By God's grace and the prayers of many, Jim continues to recover. He gave glory to God and is ready to continue doing that which God planned in advance for him to do (Ephesians 2:10).

Vic Eliason then framed a discussion concerning the continuing tidal wave of sodomy in America by noting the following stories:

--Supreme Court Judge Ruth Bader Ginsburg allegedly 'leaks' the result of the court's decision on same-sex marriage.

--Man adopts his same-sex partner to help with estate planning issue.

--Girl Scouts allowing boys who identify as girls to enroll as members.

--Boy Scouts moving closer to open and avowed homosexuality.

--Canadian Christian Jeweler sells rings to homosexual couple but still comes under scrutiny.

--Vice President Joe Biden releases a statement blasting religious condemnation of homosexuality.

--In a speech, Hillary Clinton calls for a change in deep seeded cultural codes, structural biases and religious beliefs.

--Wheaton College defends its decision to form homosexual groups on campus.

GIRL SCOUTS USA THREATENS LIFENEWS AFTER REPORTING ITS LINK TO PLANNED PARENTHOOD

Of the 315 Girl Scout councils in the U.S., 17 councils reported having a relationship with Planned Parenthood and its affiliates, and 49 reported they do not. The other 249 refused to disclose any relationship.

Steven Ertelt, Life News — During the last two weeks, LifeNews has brought international attention to the link between the Girl Scouts and the Planned Parenthood abortion business and the national boycott of Girl Scouts cookies sponsored by pro-life groups.

The pro-life movement has been concerned for a number of years about the ties between the Girl Scouts and the Planned Parenthood abortion business. Although the Girl Scout organization maintains that it takes “no position” on the issue of abortion, parents, churches, and pro-life activists have long complained of the pro-abortion slant of the Girl Scouts’ resources, role models, and affiliations.

After a series of articles on the boycott and the Girl Scouts-Planned Parenthood link, that featured the Girl Scouts logo to identify the organization, Brian Crawford, an executive with Girl Scouts USA, wrote LifeNews a scathing letter attempting to intimidate us into stopping our reporting on their link and to no longer use their logo or image to identify them as we bring attention to their support for the nation’s biggest abortion business.

In his letter Crawford again denied any connection to Planned Parenthood and he complained about LifeNews.com “articles that outline alleged ties to Planned Parenthood,” saying “GSUSA has an obligation to protect the Girl Scout name.”

“Girl Scouts of the USA does not have a partnership or any relationship with Planned Parenthood and does not plan to initiate one,” he claimed.

The letter “demands” that LifeNews no longer identify the Girl Scouts using Girl Scout logos as we report on its link to the abortion company that does approximately one-third of the abortions in the United States. The GSUSA letter lists a date by which LifeNews must guarantee the Girl Scouts it “will comply with our demand.”

However, the links between the Girl Scouts and Planned Parenthood are longstanding, with a Girl Scouts CEO and individual troops admitting as much.

Meanwhile, the new national spokeswoman for the Girl Scouts, Kelly Parisi, is the former spokeswoman for a pro-abortion organization — one founded by Gloria Steinem.

The Girl Scouts have been criticized for their involvement in the May, 2013 Women Deliver Conference, an international event that included “safe and legal abortion” among its overarching themes. It documents its role in the planning and facilitating of the December, 2012 Bali Global Youth Forum and the outcome declaration, which demands youth access to abortion.

The ties between the two groups have been questioned ever since former Girl Scouts CEO Kathy Cloninger admitted on NBC’s The Today Show: “We partner with many organizations. We have relationships with…Planned Parenthood organizations across the country.” See the video here.

Then, in a national survey, seventeen Girl Scouts councils admit to partnering with Planned Parenthood; many other councils refuse to answer the survey question. Of the 315 Girl Scout councils in the U.S., 17 councils reported having a relationship with Planned Parenthood and its affiliates, and 49 reported they do not. The other 249 refused to disclose any relationship.

In 2010-2011 Girls Scouts in New York partnered with Planned Parenthood for a sex-ed program, “Real Life. Real Talk.” The program website touts their partners (link has since been removed): “Real Life. Real Talk. is proud to count the following organizations, faith communities and companies as partners: …Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways.”

For fourteen years, the Girls Scouts in Waco, TX co-sponsored a sex ed conference with Planned Parenthood. “It’s Perfectly Normal” a book written by a Planned Parenthood executive was given to all children in attendance says abortion can be “a positive experience.” And in January 2012, Girl Scouts employee Renise Rodriguez wore a “Pray to End Abortion” t-shirt during off-duty visit to her Tucson Girl Scout office and was ordered to her to turn the shirt inside out or leave.

As LifeNews reported in 2012, the Girl Scouts joined with Planned Parenthood to head a UN conference and LifeNews reported on the investigation the Catholic Church is undertaking into the ties between the Girl Scouts and Planned Parenthood and other pro-abortion groups.

PRO-LIFE CONCERNS WITH GIRL SCOUTS PRODUCES COOKIE BOYCOTT

Christian Information Radio
With Host Jim Schneider

Girl Scout’s Position On Abortion
Producing A Girl Scout Cookie Boycott

On Today’s Show (February 4, 2014): The Girl Scouts are involved right now in their National Cookie Sales. This coming weekend is their National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend. While many sales are going on right now of the thin mints, samoas, and peanut butter patties, there is an increasing concern coming from pro-life organizations all across the country regarding the connections between the Girl Scouts and pro-abortion resources and connections to organizations that promote abortion.

Ann Saladin is the mother of a former 4th generation Girl Scout, and the creator of 'mygirlscoutcouncil.com,' a website documenting pro-life concerns about the Girl Scouts, council by council, and she discussed the concerns by pro-life groups about the Girl Scout's position on abortion that are producing a Girl Scout Cookie boycott.

She discussed the influence that women's rights and abortion advocates such as Betty Friedan, Gloria Steinem, Margaret Sanger, Wendy Davis, and Kathleen Sebelius have had on what is taught to the girls in the Girl Scouts, especially on issues such as abortion, the feminist movement, active sexuality, freedom from religion, and teachings opposed to the traditional family.

NATIONAL BOYCOTT OF GIRL SCOUT COOKIES HIGHLIGHTS TIES TO PLANNED PARENTHOOD

photo LifeNews.jpgby Eric Scheidler, Life News — (Washington, DC) The Pro-Life Action League is joining a nationwide boycott being organized by John Pisciotta of Pro-Life Waco, in Waco, Texas, who has been battling the Girl Scouts for years over their ties to abortion giant Planned Parenthood.

This year’s nationwide boycott was triggered by the Girl Scout’s glowing praise last year for two of the pro-life movement’s greatest foes: Texas state senator Wendy Davis and Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius. The Girl Scouts called Davis as an “incredible” woman who deserved to be on a list of 2013 “Women of the Year,” only a few weeks after calling Kathleen Sebelius a woman of “courage” and “character.”

Davis rose to national fame for filibustering a Texas law banning late term abortions and requiring abortion facilities to adhere to safety standards, while wearing a pair of pink sneakers. Sebelius is responsible for implementing the pro-abortion provisions of Obamacare, including the infamous HHS Mandate that forces employers to provide free abortion-inducing drugs in their health plans, regardless of any religious or moral objections.

SIGN THE PETITION AND JOIN THE BOYCOTT: We Support the Pro-Life Girl Scout Cookie Boycott

Girl Scouts’ Ties to Planned Parenthood

As detailed at the official CookieCott 2014 website, both the national Girl Scouts USA and many local Girl Scout councils have supported and promoted the work of Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion chain, even encouraging girls to volunteer with Planned Parenthood.

They have also praised the work of groups like the National Organization for Women, which the Pro-Life Action League battled in an infamous epic lawsuit and Girls, Inc., whose ties to the American Girl doll company led to a successful League boycott in 2005.
League Flyer Helps YOU Join the CookieCott

As both a pro-life activist and the father of six girls, I haven’t bought Girl Scout cookies for years—despite my great love for Thin Mints. This year, I had planned to produce a flyer to pass out to the parents of Girl Scouts who come knocking on the door selling cookies. CookieCott 2014 offers an ideal opportunity to offer this resource.

The flyer boldly states, “Our family will not be buying Girl Scout Cookies this year” and then explains:

In recent years, the Girl Scouts USA and many local Girl Scouts councils have been supporting and promoting pro-abortion groups like Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion chain.

This pro-life family doesn’t want to have anything to do with such groups or those, like the Girl Scouts, who support them.

Several key links between the Girl Scouts and abortion advocates are listed, along with a website for more information.

Print out several copies of the flyer and carry them with you to hand out to parents or other adults accompanying Girl Scouts selling cookies door-to-door or at the mall or grocery store.

CookieCott Already Having An Impact

Only the day before the official announcement of the CookieCott, Girl Scouts USA released an official statement apologizing to anyone who was offended by their social media messaging last year. However, they did not specifically apologize for praising Davis or Sebelius, nor did they promise to sever all ties with Planned Parenthood and other pro-abortion groups.

Coming six weeks after the messages in praise of Davis and Sebelius, it’s clear that this half-hearted apology is in direct response to the boycott. And now that the boycott is officially underway and spreading like wildfire, it is hoped the Girl Scouts will finally take seriously the concerns of parents like me and completely renounce any involvement with the abortion industry and its advocates.

As CMI reported last week, ABC and NBC gave just 46 seconds of air time to the many thousands who braved freezing temperatures to join the 2014 March for Life in Washington, D.C. CBS didn’t even mention it.
